1967 Model Ford
Cars Have Five
Year Warranty
C. M. Daniel Jr., president of
Daniel Ford Sales, Ine., Jackson,
this week announced that all pur
chasers of 1967 model Ford cars
and light trucks will receive a 24-
month or 24,000 mile basic ve
hicle warranty along with a 5-
year or 60,000 mile warranty on
the power train components, in
cluding the engine, transmission,
drive line and rear axle.
The new warranty, Mr. Daniel
said, is the best the industry has
to offer and will be an important
factor in backing up the superior
performance which customers
have come to expect from Ford
cars and trucks.
The 24,000 mile warranty was
pioneered by Ford Motor Compa
ny on the Lincoln Continental and
was later extended to the entire
vehicle line.
“Extension of this warranty on
the power train components for
1967,” Mr. Daniel said, “is possi
ble because of continued prog
ress toward quality and reliability
goals that year after year have
enabled Ford dealers to be the
leader in providing products re
quiring less and less maintenance.
Terms of the new warranty
provide that for 24 months or
for 24,000 miles on the entire
vehicle, whichever comes first,
and for 6 years or 60,000 miles
on the power train, whichever
comes first, free replacement, in
cluding related labor, will be made
by authorized dealers of any part
with a defect in workmanship or
materials.
The new warranty covers both
the original owner and subse
quent owners during the specified
mileage and time periods.
Mr. Daniel said that his dealer
ship would introduce their new
1967 models to the public on Fri
day, September 30.

Dove Season
Opens Friday
Ready or not, here comes the
dove season!
At 12 noon Friday, Sept. 9, the
shooting begins, and another
hunting season opens officially
for Georgia. The dove, traditional
opening target, will be sought
after by thousands of Peach State
shotgunners.
The first half of the split sea
son will last through October 8,
with the second half running
from December 6 through Janu
ary 14. Shooters may take 12
doves per day, but may have no
more than 24 in their possession
at any time. But there will be
many who won’t be able to get
very near to that daily limit.
Statistics show that the average
dove hunter bags about five birds
for every box of 24 shells that
he shoots, demonstrating what a
tricky target the dove presents.
Shooting hours will be from 12

Highlights
BY JANIE SETTLE
Things have settled down at
JHS. Class schedules have been
arranged for all the students.
Lockers were assigned the first of
the week. The July college board
scores returned for those who had
taken the exam.
The cheerleaders decorated the
wall with posters for the Red
Devils’ first football game Friday
night. A big “Stomp Fayette
County” poster on the floor was
most noticeable and very stomped
on. During the last period Fri
day there was a pep rally. A red
devil with a spirit stick helped
the student body yell louder.
Spirit registered “red hot” on a
big spirit meter on the football
field. Although the Devils lost 12-
7 to Fayette County, they played
hard and were backed by enthusi
astic fans.
