THURSDAY, SEPT. 8, 1966 ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■l MADDOX— HARALSON The Macedonia Baptist Annex was the scene Saturday evening, September 3rd, at six o’clock of the marriage of Mrs. Dama Hod ges Maddox and Mr. William An derson Haralson. The Rev. Bill Thomas officiated at the double ring ceremony which was per formed in the presence of an as semblage of relatives and friends. Nuptial music was softly ren dered by Mrs. Lawrence Morgan during the ceremony. The only attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Brae P. Hodges Sr., brother and sister-in-law of the bride. The bride’s parents were the late W. B. and Cora Thomas Hod ges, esteemed citizens of Butts County. Mrs. Haralson was reared in Butts County where she has many friends. She is an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Haralson is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lattimus Olin Haralson. He is prominently iden tified in religious, business and civic circles in Barnesville. He is employed by the Newton Coal and Lumber Company of Griffin as construction superintendent. Immediately following the cere mony Mr. and Mrs. Haralson were tendered a lovely tea in Fellow ship Hall by members of the WMU Circles of Macedonia Bap tist Church. After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Haralson are at home to their many friends at 130 Cherry Street in Barnesville. P. Williams was held on August 28th at Indian Springs State Park. When everyone arrived, lunch was served and it was enjoyed by all. The reunion will be held again next year on the fourth Sunday in August at the same location. PERSONAL Spending the Labor Day week end with Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Hurt Sr. were Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Hurt Jr. and Sam of Macon, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Adams and Ron nie of College Park. Joining them for Sunday dinner were Mrs. L. P. McKibben Sr. and Miss Mary Gaulding, of Griffin, and Mr. and Mrs. George Lee of Birmingham, Ala. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Paris and Tammy of St. Petersburg arrived Thursday for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Price. Mr. and Mrs. Price toured the mountains of North Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee over the weekend with Tammy spending the weekend with her grandparents. Georgia College Queen Can Cook Georgia College Queen, Andrea Jane O’Neal, prepares Bar becue Cheese and Peanut Grillwich during the Best Foods Home Economics Event of the 1966 National College Queen Pageant. Andrea, a student at the University of Georgia, was one of the fifty finalists invited to New York for the Pageant. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tim O’Neal, 101 Smith Street, Hart well, Georgia. Barbecue Cheese and Peanut Grillwich 1/2 cup Skippy peanut 1/4 teaspoon Worcester butter shire sauce 1 tablespoon finely 8 slices enriched white chopped onion bread, toasted 1 tablespoon finely Mazola corn oil mar chopped green pepper garine, to spread 1/3 cup tomato juice 8 slices American process cheese Mix peanut butter, onion, green pepper, tomato juice and Wor cestershire sauce and beat until fluffy. Spread hot toasted bread lightly with margarine. Spread generously with peanut butter mixture. Top with slice of American cheese. Broil 5 inches from heat source one minute or until cheese bubbles. Makes 8 open face sandwiches or 4 closed sandwiches, with extra filling which mav be stored in the refrigerator. WILSON REUNION HELD AT INDIAN SPRINGS SUNDAY The descendants of Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson, of Jasper County, met September 4th at Indian Springs. A bountiful lunch •was served at the noon hour. All six children were present including Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Wilson and Buddy of Pollock, La.; Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Morton, Thomas and Gene of Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. James Simpson and Cathy, of Atlanta; Mr. and Mrs. David Holcomb, Jan and Sandra, of White Plains; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Brooks, of Union Point; Mrs. Emory Anderson, Connie and Buddy, of Sparta.
