The offensive line did a fine

ophs. The sophs are Eugene My

jilly Woodard and Calvin White.
The junior is Frankie Varner, and
igniors are Captain Ollie Wood
ed and Kenneth White.
The game was scoreless until
10:53 left in the second quarter
when East Depot combined a
drive of 67 yards in nine plays
[and scored on a two yard plunge.
The extra point failed.
Henderson had their opportuni

started on their 35 yard line, but
after a run by Thurman for 15
yards, a fumble stopped the drive.
The halftime festivities were
very spectacular. The Henderson
High Tiger band played well.

of Georgia. The Tiger band is re
garded as one of the best bands
in the region.
East Depot scored late in the
third quarter on a 43 yard run.
The extra point was again unsuc
cessful.
Henderson’s Robert Griffin re
ceived a punt in the fourth quar
ted on his 33 and ran 19 yards
to East Depot’s 48 yard line. Two
plays later a fumble killed the
drive.
In the wild and wooly last per
iod East Depot scored again on a
55 yard run. The extra point (2)
was successful. Coach Davis then
called ,on the passing game with
soph Curtis Taylor at QB. He hit
end Clarence Norris on three
passes for 43 yards.
In the last Tiger surge which
began on the three, Taylor hit
Norris once for 17 yards and end
J. W. Jefferson for 27 yards. He
found Jerry Respress up the mid
dle for 11 yards, but then a des
peration pass was intercepted to
blunt the drive.
The defensive unit played fair
ly well but were unable to turn in
the big play. Sophomore defen
sive end Calvin White played the
best game of his career in making
17 unassisted tackles and 11 as
sists. He was undoubtedly the
most aggressive defensive line
man.
The Tigers do not have a game
this Friday but on October 3rd
the Tigers will play Monticello in
Jackson.
