THE JACKSON PROGRESS-ARGUS. JACKSON. GEORGIA
THE GREAT BIG SUN
The great big Sun that rises in the East
Is one of God’s blessings, and is not the very least.
For it points us to Heaven above the deep blue sky
And is a source of God’s love who reigns from on high.
For God so loved the wicked and wild, that he gave Christ his
only one child
To be nailed to the Cross while life was within
To save us poor creatures from the horrors of sin.
So why not list to his voice so dear
And try to help someone to be of good cheer.
The great big Sun that is shining today
To brighten our journey all the way;
It is shining for those who trust in God
And have shouldered their burdens, and are willing to trod,
The path that was trod by our Saviour and King
Who to this earth Salvation did bring.
The path may be rugged and thorns pierce our feet
But the end of our journey will be ever so sweet
If we but follow his footsteps to guide
It will head us to Heaven and then on inside.
Where we will sing praises to God, and Glory to his name;
For then we will see our efforts were not in vain.
