DRAW NIGH TO ME
It is a wonderful and gracious
thought that, in our condition of
sin and need, we are invited to
“draw nigh” to the infinitely holy
God; but to hear Him say, “And
I will draw nigh unto you,” sub
dues us with a sense of His con
descension. It means something
to draw nigh unto God —it means
that as 1 draw nigh to Him I
leave the world behind; it means
that I have forsaken sin; it means
that my rebellion and unbelief are
at an end, and that I have come
into the place of submission and
faith; it means that self is put to
one side, and that it is my pur
pose to do the will of Him to
whom I am drawing nigh. It
means all this on my side.
But what does it mean for God
to draw nigh unto me? For He
is not drawing nigh in judg
ment, but in blessing. It means
all my needs supplied, spiritual
and temporal; it means all sins
forgiven, all sin cleansed away;
it means the anointing of the
Spirit and His abiding in my
heart; it means grace sufficient
in every time of need; it means
constant victory over the world,
the flesh, and the devil; it means
joy and peace in their fullness.
Oh, when God draws nigh to me,
it means the assurance that “I
shall not want.” Thank God for
the possibility of this mutual and
gracious “drawing nigh.”

dream castle#
Deep inside each person, ivhere no one can see, stands a dream
castle. The nature of it varies according to one’s character and per
sonality. An artist may dream of creating a masterpiece—not yet
painted—which will inspire many people. Another person may see a
vision of how he can make life happier for others.
Everyone must believe in his dream in order to go forward with
patience.
Jesus hoped that the world would hear His message through the
uneducated fishermen He chose as His close companions. He did not
give up His dream that the disciples would carry on His work . . .
even when they argued over places of honor in heaven . . . or when
Peter denied any connection with Him.
His dream came true. Showing courage and faith, this small group
of twelve grew through centuries into today’s worldwide congregation
of millions.
You will find inspiration and help for your dreams of spiritual
accomplishment when you attend the church of your choice.
