Little League
Dinner Meeting
Set March sth
A dinner meeting of Georgia
District 4 Little League repre
sentatives has been set for Thurs
day, March sth at 7:30 p. m. at
Bonanza Sirlion Pit in Griffin.
Representatives from 20
’leagues within the District are
scheduled to attend. Special
guests from North Clayton,
Woodbury (Pine Mountain), and
Forsyth will also attend.
The purpose of this meeting
will be to discuss the 1970 tour
nament, draw up the parings for
the tournament, and set up the
District Safety Program and Um
pire-Manager Schools for the
1970 season.
Other important business will
be handled at this time.
The District Auxiliary Unit will
be invited to this meeting. How
ever, if any league in the District
is interested in the Auxiliary
Unit, they are urged to have rep
resentatives present at this meet
ing.
Little Leagues in District Four
are Jackson, Griffin (2), Pike
County, Henry County, Barnes
ville, Thomaston, Jonesboro, Mor
row-Lake City, Fayette County,
Riverdale, South Fulton (Fair
burn), Newnan, LaGrange (2),

The Jackson Devilettes defeat
ed West Point in the third toura
ment game by a score of 48-33.
In the beginning of the game the
Devilettes were constantly mak
ing mistakes but during the sec
ond half the Devilettes came back
and won.
Inice Dennard had a very good
night and totaled 20 points. De
nise Davis followed with 19 and
Carole Lawrence scored 9. The
guards were Andrea Holston,
Doris Greene, Patrice Marchman.
The guards seemed to have a hard
time during the first two quarters
but made up for their mistakes
in the last ones.

As Greenhands
In Jackson FFA
Thirty-two boys and girls were
initiated into the Jackson High
School FFA Chapter as Green
hands. This is the first of four
degrees of membership in the
FFA organization. All of these
boys and girls are enrolled in
Vocational Agriculture and Ag
riculture Mechanics Class under
direction of Mr. E. B. Shepard
and Mr. J. W. Lineberger, Teach
ers of Vocational Agriculture
and Advisors to the chapter.
Sammy Smith, president of the
local FFA Chapter, reminded the
