The cold weather really hurt
last weekend, especially since we
were enjoying getting out in the
yard each evening after work.
We hope the cold didn’t do much
damage to the fruit crop
We think the way someone, un
known to us, has been destroying
the looks of property, signs, etc.
is uncalled for. By destroying
we mean the way they have been
painting ’7l, ’72, etc. on build
ings, billboards and signs, just to
name a few. Just last week we
noticed that someone had scrib
bled all over the WELCOME TO
JACKSON AND BUTTS COUN
TY sign just outside of Jackson
on the Griffin Highway. I feel
sure that Jackson/Butts County
will again enter the Stay and
See Contest and this certainly
won’t help our chances any. It
seems that no one has. respect for
another persons property any
more We agree with
Channel 5, TV when they say that
Delta Airlines lived up to their
slogan “Delta is ready when you
are” last week. In case you’ve
been out of this world and haven’t
heard, a baby boy was born last
week somewhere over Augusta,
Georgia on a Delta Airlines Jet.
He, of course, has been given the
middle name Delta Glad
to see the price of eggs is fin
ally being reduced. We noted
with interest that a large store
in Atlanta made the statement
that three weeks ago large eggs
were selling for 90c a dozen and

the beauty and serenity of Jack

several people from out of town
speak of how friendly the people
in Jackson are. One of the strong
est points these people mention is
that the fact they, a complete
stranger, can walk down the
streets of Jackson and not meet
an unfriendly face. They seem to
be impressed most with the way
people smile and speak to each
person. Let’s keep up the good
work for you know the old say

frown, than it does to smile.
