ASCS Office
Be Closed
October 22
The Butts County Agricul
tural Stabilization and Conser
vation Service (ASCS) Office
will be closed October 22 for
Veterans Day, reports County
Executive Director Marion D.
Todd.
This Monday holiday is in
accordance with the federal
law which sets a variable date
for several national holidays in
order for them to occur on
Mondays.
“Farmers and ranchers
don’t pay much attention to
holidays- especially not at
harvest time-so we like to get
a reminder out ahead of time
when the ASCS office will be
closed. It may save an extra
trip for someone,” Mr. Todd
said.
Other federal holidays in 1973
on which the ASCS and other
federal offices in Butts County
will be closed are: Thanks
giving, Thursday, November
22, and Christmas, Tuesday,
December 25.
