Mrs. B. A. Williamson
Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Nash
spent Thursday night with
Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Evans of
Norcross and after visiting
with the Evans’ they return
ed home Friday night.
Mrs. Lloyd White, accom
panied by Mrs. Ruby Burford
of Jackson, visited their
sister, Mrs. Lois Kimbell, in
McDonough Wednesday.
Rev. and Mrs. Bill Whit
latch spent Thursday and
Friday at Wake Forest
Baptist Seminary in Wake
Forest, North Carolina.
Rev. Whitlatch carried
about 40 members of the
R.A.’s and G.A.’s over to
Forsyth Wednesday night for
the horrifying experience of
a visit to the “Haunted
House.” Counsellors of the
boys and girls groups
accompanied them. The
sights and sounds of the
haunted house came up to all
expectations and everybody
had fun.
Friends of the Taylor
family are indeed sorry to
know that Robert Taylor was
carried to Sylvan Grove
Hospital and then transfer
red to Griffin Hospital
Sunday morning. Members
of the family, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Mayhue of Gray and
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor of
Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Taylor of Jackson, and Mr.
and Mrs. Jack McLees were
all present to lend their
assistance.
Mr. Lane Cook of La-
Grange visited during the
weekend with the familes of
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mc-
Michael, Mr. and Mrs. Hulon
Cook and Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Cook.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Byrd
of Decatur spent Saturday
with Mrs. Byrd’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim O’Neal and
Patty.
Mr. Richard Swann, of
Atlanta, son of Mrs. Nelle
Swann, spent Sunday here
with his mother. He had just
returned Monday after a two
weeks business trip to Rio de
Janeiro in the interest of the
Coke-Cola Cos. by whom he is
employed. Prior to his trip to
Brazil he had made a
business trip to Honolulu,
Hawaii.
Mrs. Jim O’Neal and Mrs.
Jewell Snow drove up to
Chamblee Wednesday for a
visit with Mrs. Louise Greer.
Before returning home, they
also visited Mrs. Pearl Clack
in Decatur.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Harris, Mr. and Mrs. E. R.
Nash and Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Standard went to
Davis Cafe in McDonough for
lunch Sunday.
Mrs. Ina Bennett of Atlanta
passed away on Sunday
morning, Nov. 2. Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd White and Mr.
Jimmie White attended
funeral services for her
Tuesday at Patterson’s
Spring Hill Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bennett is remembered
by many of the residents of
Stark Community. She was
the sisiter of Mrs. W. A.
(Cap) White and visited
many times with the White
family.
A number of members of
Macedonia B.T.U. attended
“M” night at Jackson First
Baptist Church on Monday
night. Rev. Whitlatch, Mace
donia’s choir director, led in
the singing for the service.
Messrs. Russell Price,
Harold Standard and Rev. R.
W. Jenkin&attended services
at Stockbridge on Monday
night, Rev. Jenkins showed
slides made while on his and
Mrs. Jenkins recent tour of
the Holy Land.
Mrs. Louis Banks of
Barnesville was the guest of
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd White
Sunday.
Mrs. Gene Mitchell, Mrs.
Raymond Waites and Mrs.
Cliett Redman entertained
affout 32 children of the
community Friday night at
the home of Mrs. Redman at
a Halloween party. The
children enjoyed hobbling
apples, playing Halloween
games, and other types of
fun. An interesting feature
was refreshments of cookies,
candies, and Halloween
goodies. A most enjoyable
time was had by all.
