Bank Officer
Is Injured In
Pistol Mishap
Ronnie Wells, cashier at
Mclntosh State Bank, re
ceived minor injuries in a
freak firearms accident
Sunday night when a hand
gun he was unloading
discharged, the bullet stri
king him in the area of the
left elbow.
The young bank officer had
placed his rifle, shotgun and
.38 caliber pistol on the bed
and was in the process of
unloading the revolver for
the purpose of replacing the
bullets when it accidentally
discharged.
He sustained powder burns
and the bullet tore through
some muscle tissue, causing
some loss of mobility, but it is
believed no serious damage
to the arm will result.
Wells was taken to Clayton
General Hospital where he
will remain as a patient until
about Thursday.
