CHIMNEY PHENOM
HAS EM GUESSING
IN WORTHVILLE
Bill Sealey reports a
believe it or not occurrence
in Worthville which he says
he believes since he saw it.
He reports that a tenant
house burned recently on the
land of Mrs. J. H. Pope and
the chimney, evidently twist
ed by the extreme heat,
made a complete one-quarter
turn. The odd thing, Sealey
reports, is that no bricks
were out of place and that the
chimney turned as a whole.
Sealey attributes the oddi
ty to the fiery heat generated
by the fire feeding on the
heart pine interior of the
house.

OLD TIME
REMEDIES
BY TOM O’DELL
How to cure asthma in a young boy: Back him up to a
tree, and bore a hole in the tree, adjacent to the back of his
head. (Move the boy out of the way. while boring.) Then
stick a wad of his hair in the hole. Peg the hair in tight, then
cut off the lock.
Here's an old-time formula to determine the sex of an
unborn child. Take your wedding ring and tie it on a string
and hold it over left wrist with arm extended straight up with
palm up. The ring will begin to move, and if it moves length
wise with the arm you are going to have a boy, and if it
moves crosswise it will be a girl. Now I thought about this: If
the ring goes around in circles, don't panic. It may just be a
tumor!
