JIM PRICE WITH BUCK AND CLIFF PRICE WITH RED
By Ben Parrish
Since I took over the duty
of writing this column some
weeks back, I have encount
ered many families who have
strong affections for their
pets. But the Chuck Price
family of Jenkinsburg rates
among the most affectionate.
The favorite pets of the
family seem to be their dogs,
an Irish Setter named
Rusty Red and an English
Setter named Joey Buck.
Rusty Red is the son of
Price’s Omar and Whiten’s
Shelalee and is not quite a
year old. Joey Buck is the son
BUTTS FISHING IS
ONLY FAIR-TO-GOOD
Ben Gunn, of the State
Dept, of Natural Resources,
says fishing in Butts County
will be only so-so for the week
of July 25-31st.
Specifically, he says Jack
son Lake will be down and
clear, good for bass using
plastic worms at 8-15 ft. off
the points; good for catfish;
fair for crappie. High Falls
will be low and stained, with
fishing slow to fair for all.

hunting with their father.
The dogs will eat almost

both dogs have a sweet tooth,
as they like all sweets,
especially pound cake.
Among the Price’s other
pets is a Rhode Island Red
hen called Kitty. The way
she got her name is
interesting. It seems she
would climb out of her pen
and go to the back porch of
the house whenever Mrs.
Price fed stray cats. Now the
hen will come everytime
someone calls “Kitty.”
The family has other
assorted pets, such as
turtles, stray cats, other
chickens, and an eel named
Jack, who recently died.
