SUMMER SUNDAYS
BELONG TO HIM TOO!
It’s that time of year again.
We are having some beauti
ful weather and we should
thank God for it, but some of
our church members will do
just the opposite. They will
take those beautiful week
ends for their own pleasure,
neglecting their church and
their Lord (Jesus Christ).
No man can break away
from the church and its
worship of God without
feeling the effect of it in his
own soul. If you see a man
begin to serve the god of
pleasure or money or fame,
you will observe that very
soon there begins a moral as
well as spiritual decline.
When a man begins to
absent himself from church
worship something bad is
taking place in his heart.
Church attendance is op
tional as far as choice is
concerned, but it is obliga
tory as far as moral and
spiritual welfare is concern
ed.
When Adam and Eve
sinned they failed God at the
appointed hour of worship,
God was there but Adam and
Eve were elsewhere. We, the
sons and daughters of these
first parents, are not all so
different. If there is sin in our
souls, it robs us of any desire
to meet God.
The first step to take to
attain a happy whole life are
Church Steps. Great deci
sions for great living have
been more often reached in
God’s appointed place of
worship.
When we neglect and
despise and absent ourselves
from His appointed place of
worship, we do so at our own
peril. Whipping will certainly
follow. We should know that
payday will come someday.
“Forsake not the assemb
ling of yourselves together”,
for worship. (Hebrews 10:25)

In Grateful Appreciation
I wish to thank the people of Butts County for
the many past favors and their support since I have
been in office. It now comes a time for pause and
reflection and at this time especially I would like to
say “Thank You” to the people of Butts County.
I appreciate the opportunities you have given
me as serving as your Tax Commissioner for the
past several years and I am grateful for the faith you
have entrusted in me.
For the last several months I have been trying
to see each of you personally to ask for your support.
With working each day time is runnng out and
if 1 don’t get to see you please accept this as my
visit, and my request for your support.
If you choose to elect me for the new term, I
shall endeaver to merit your confidence and good
will by continuing to serve you to the best of my
ability by expanding and improving my services as
the changing needs of our County and State require
it. I hope that you will give me many opportunities
to demonstrate the sincerity of this pledge.
