Pet of The Week By Ben Parrish If variety is the spice of life, then the James Gilbert family of Jackson must have a spicy life. They have three dogs, each one a different breed. Charlie is a nine-month-old Dachshund that barks at anything that moves. He especially likes to curl up on the couch and sleep. Recent ly, however, Charlie got behind the dryer and his back rubbed up against a hot pipe. Report From Indian Springs By Mrs. Clyde Hoard Mrs. R. L. Holloway of Forsyth spent last week with ivir. and Mrs. Bill Holloway. On Friday they were guests of Dr. and Mrs. Allen Batchelor and family in Bremen. Holly and Cal returned home with them for a week’s visit. Barrett Hoard visited Mr. and Mrs. Neil Mullis and family in Dublin last week and on Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Danny Hoard returned him home. Rev. and Mrs. Ed. Hoard of Atlanta visited Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hoard on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hawley had as their guests last week Mrs. Jean Boyer and children of St. Louis, Mo, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Joe Jones and daughter of Stephen C. Foster State Park, and Mr. and Mrs. Rod Fortune and family of Adel. Mr. Asa Maddox made a business trip to South Georgia and Florida last •Yellow Daisy Art Show Set For Stone Mtn. Entries are now being accepted for the 1976 Yellow Daisy Festival Art Show. The show, held in conjunction with the annual Yellow Daisy Festival, will include cate gories in painting, water color, drawing and print, and photography. Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded in each category. The Art show will be held in the Stone Mountain Park Coliseum September 10 - 12 with judging to be held Friday, September 10. Bambi, a one-and-a-half year-old bulldog, is the troublemaker of the group. She has torn sheets off neighbor’s clothesline, dug up gardens, and enjoys pulling the floor mats out of cars. Bambi also has a tendency to “hog” the food, leaving the smaller dogs both hungry and angry. She does have some good traits, however, such as being week.
