Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. W. J.
Saunders recently celebrated
their fiftieth wedding anni
versary. Their grand
daughters. Mrs. Joey Barge
ron and Mrs. John Payne,
gave them a reception at the
Jenkinsburg Club House.
Approximately one hundred
guests called to congratulate
this esteemed couple.
The club house was
beautifully decorated with
white and gold as the main
theme. The appointed table
was covered with a lace cloth
and centered with an
arrangement of white and

While in New York the
Merediths and Witts toured

among them a lovely dinner
cruise on the Erie Canal.

Friends of Maurice Moore
will be interested to know
that he underwent a cataract
operation Wednesday at the
Metropolitan Eye and Ear
Hospital in Atlanta and is
expected to return home on
Saturday.
Mrs. Mattie Lou Grant of
Jackson accompanied Mr.
and Mrs. Don Grant, Susan
and Andy of McDonough to
Tampa, Florida for a visit
with Mr. and Mrs. Gene
Grant and family. While
there they toured other
points of interest in Flordia.

for their excellent planning
and gracious hospitality

Through group meetings
covering educational, histor
ic and patriotic endeavors of
the National Society, mem
bers were privileged to work
with both national and state
officers in shaping each
Chapter’s planning for best
meeting the goals of the

SHORTER COLLEGE ENROLLEE-Thomas Man
ley, son of Dr. Jo Ann Manley of Jackson, is enrolled in the
fourth session of Exploration ’76 at Shorter College.
Exploration ’76 is an intense educational program for
youngsters who will be in the fifth through the ninth grade
next fall and who are enrolled in classes for gifted children,
or have higher-than-average grades.

AT CAMP FULTON
Thirteen Butts County
4 H ers attended 4-11 Junior
Achievement Camp at Camp
Fulton the past week. The
camp is located just south of
Atlanta. Part of each 4-H’ers
camp lee was sponsored by
the Jackson Kiwanis Club.
Highlights of the week
included tours of the Govern
or’s Mansion, State Capitol,
airport, and a trip to Stone
Mountain.
Those 4-H’ers selected to
attend this camp were:
