which it assures the Rural
Electrificiation Administra
tion that it will comply fully
with all requirements of Title
VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964 and the Rules and
Regulations of the Depart
ment of Agriculture issued
thereunder, to the end that
no person in the United
States shall, on the ground of
race, color, or national
origin, be excluded from
participation in, be denied
the benefits of, or be
otherwise subjected to dis
crimination in the conduct of
its program and the opera
tion of its facilities. Under
this Assurance, this organi
zation is committed not to
discriminate against any
person on the ground of race,
color or national origin in its
policies and practices relat
ing to applications for
service or any other policies
and practices relating to
treatment of beneficiaries
and participants including
rates, conditions, and exten
siomservice, use of any of its
facilities, attendance at and

NOTICE TO CITIZENS
OF BUTTSCOUNTY
The Butts County Board of
Equalization in a scheduled
meeting on Sept. 24, 1976 has
ordered that the valuation on
all improvements shown on
the 1976 digest shall be
increased to read the same
as the 1975 digest This
decision relates to a group or
class of real property and
includes all structures locat
ed on the land such as houses,
trailers, buildings, ware
houses, stores etc.
It is the considered opinion
of the Board of Equalization
that land valuations for 1976
were correctly assessed at
fair market value. In view of
the aforementioned it is
ordered that 1976 land
valuations shall remain the
same, except in those cases
where they were adjusted by
the Board of Equalization for
specific reasons.

This notice is to advise you
that on the 3rd day of
November, 1976, a municipal
general election will be held
by the Governing Authority
of the City of Jackson, State
of Georgia.
The election will be held for
the purpose of electing a
Mayor and Councilmen for
the Second and Third Wards.
The polls in said election
shall open at 7:00 a.m. and
close at 7:00 p.m.
This notice is being given

Henderson Junior High FHA
Club were elected at a recent
meeting and include Sheila
Rooks, president; Nadine
Smith, vice president; Gloria
Andrews, secretary; Lisa
Benton, treasurer;
Joyce Lewis, project chair
man; Debbie Bray, degree
chairman; Vanessa Head,
music and recreation; Paige
Dickens, public relations;
Tina Webb, parliamentarian.
Serving as FHA advisor is
Mrs. Carol Harpe.
The home economics
students and FHA members
have sold 425 home eco
nomics teacher’s cookbooks.
Proceeds will go towards an
air conditioner and anew
sofa for the home economics
department. A bake sale is
also planned sometime in
October.
The FHA members attend
ed a district meeting at
Sprayberry High School in
Marietta on Saturday, Octo
ber 9th.
The FHA Club meets every
fourth Monday at the fourth
period. Many interesting
projects and trips are being
planned throughout the
school year.
