Deed to Secure Debt is a
promissory note payable to
Nolan B. Harmon executed

ments, Ltd. and endorsed by

Dickinson on November 19,
1973 in the original principal
amount of $79,996.79.
Said property will be sold
as the property of Academy
Associates, Inc. Grantee
shall collect the proceeds of
said sale and after reserving
therefrom the amount of the
debt, including interest due,
together will all costs and

James Tharpe,
Butts Native,
Dies in Griffin
Funeral services for
James Davis Tharpe, of 843
Bieze Street, Griffin, were
held Wednesday morning,
January sth, from the
graveside in the Oak Hill
cemetery.
Mr. Tharpe was executive
vice president and secretary
of Pomona Products Cos.,
until his retirement. He was
a native of Butts County, son
of the late Thomas Killen
Tharpe and the late Mary
Eugenia McCord Tharpe.
Mr. Tharpe moved to Griffin
in 1923 to make his home.
He was a veteran of World
War One and was a member
of the First Christian Church
where he had been a deacon
and a member of the board of
trustees.
Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Lillian Goodman
Tharpe; a sister, Miss
Edwina Tharpe, both of
Griffin; several nieces and
nephews.

any one other than authorized City Personnel to dig
up or into the paving, asphalt, or other hard-surfaced
road-bed or sidewalk on any street, road, alley, or side
walk within the municipal limits of the City of Jackson,
for the laying or installation of pipes, wires, or other
equipment, or otherwise, without first obtaining a CITY
PERMIT to do so.
It is also unlawful to leave such defacement with
out: A. Repairing same or, B. Paying for such repair
by another and having same repaired.

Atlanta Slates
All American
Girl Pageant
On March llth & 12th, a
host of talented young ladies
will compete for the coveted
title of Georgia’s first All
American Girl. The pageant
is scheduled to be held in
Atlanta at the Downtown
Holiday Inn. The All Ameri
can Girl Pageant is unique in'
that it is one of the few
pageants in existence that
covers such a wide range of
groups.
Categories are the All
American Tot - ages 3-6; All
American Little Miss - ages
7-9; All American Miss -
ages 10-12; All American
Teen - ages 13-17; and the All
American Girl - ages 18-26.
Girls in the age groups of
3-12 will compete with street
length party dress, sports
wear, and close-up appraisal.
Girls in the age groups of
13-26 will be judged in
evening gown, sportswear
and close-up appraisal. All
girls except the 3-6 year olds
will be judged on a talent
presentation also. The talent,
amateur or professional,
may be anything which
shows the girl’s poise before
an audience: skits, panto
mime, dramatics, baton
twirling, musical instru
ments, dancing, singing, etc.
Winners from each cate
gory will receive trophy,
crown, banner, and the
opportunity to compete for
nearly $5,000 of scholarships
to be awarded at the national
competition. Talent winners
will also be eligible to
proceed to the national
finals.

inquire for further informa
tion and applications by
writing All American Girl
Pageants, 1915 Montgomery
Highway, Dothan, Alabama,

dance schools, civic clubs,
