PET of the WEEK by Dale Whiten Arthur and Edna Gilmore who live on Jackson Lake recently built their cat. Smoky Joe, a house of its own. Smoky Joe’s house is two-story, fully carpeted and has a full-glass window on the second story so that Smoky Joe can observe the goings-on from his cozy abode which he stays in a lot on cold and rainy days. Mr. and Mrs. Gilmore said Smoky Joe’s having his own house also helps him guard his food from their two dogs which Smoky Joe seems to have an amiable relationship with except perhaps at feeding times. In addition to his own house, the yellow-and-white Smoky Joe also has a rocking chair (in Mr. and Mrs. Gilmore’s house) which he claims for his own and which he seems to prefer not to have people sit in. His rocking chair has his toy spools tied to it to keep the mischievous Smoky Joe entertained and occupied. And he manages to keep himself busy and happy most of the time whether it be grabbing Mr. Gilmore’s golf balls when he’s practicing putting or tussling with his, owner, a game Mr. Gilmore .says can get pretty rough and he has scratches on his arm for proof. But Mrs. Gilmore said Smoky Joe’s latest and most playful game is his stealing minnows from the minnow James Andrews Is Buried In Port Richey James L. Andrews, 55, of 1016 W. Author ities have good reason for concern since the unpre scribed use of these drugs can lead to drug addiction. Goof balls are barbiturates and pep pills are ampheta mines. Both are available through legal channels only upon prescription from a physician. However, these drugs are being obtained by criminals through illegal means and are sold to teenagers who take them for “kicks.” The compounding and dispensing of drugs is our business —a very serious business. We follow your doctor’s prescription to the letter and you should take only the prescribed dosages. Allow us to safely compound your prescription. PHONE 775-7424 PARRISH DRUG CO. JACKSON, GA. I arfl getting through two of the lines of two officers in the Revolutionary War for my self in honor of the William Mclntosh Chapter D.A.R. of Jackson of which I have been a member for almost a half century.
