STARK NEWS By Mrs. B. A. Williamson Mr. and Mrs. Albert Heneley had as their spend the-dav guests Friday, Mrs. Bessie Davis of Hiram, Ga. and Mrs. Irene Jones of Farmington, Michigan. Patty O’Neal, having gra duated from Gordon Junior College has enrolled in the University of Georgia at Athens to further her education for a major in Home Economics. Rev. Earle Stirewalt from the Department of National Baptists, in the Georgia Baptist Convention, preach ed at both the morning and evening services at Mace donia Church on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy O'Neal were hosts for supper Saturday night to the Betwixt and Between Sunday School Class of the Stark United Methodist Church. A deli cious rabbit stew, salads, dessert, tea and-or coffee were enjoyed by everyone. The class is very active and meets once each month for a social gathering. Included in the supper meeting were Rev. and Mrs. Charles Risher, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Spruell, Mr. and Mrs. Cliett Redman, Miss Elizabeth McMichael and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy O’Neal. Mrs. Julia Duggan is a patient at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, having undergone surgery a week ago. Her condition is reported as satisfactory and friends hope she will soon be able to come home. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie J. Bryan of Forest Park spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Grant and family. They are the parents of Mrs. Grant. The Administrative Board of Stark United Methodist Church went out to Falls View Restaurant for dinner and a business meeting last Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Asa Ruffin, of Yatesville, parents of Mrs. Orville Kitchens, observed their 65th wedding anniver sary last Saturday. A group of relatives and friends from Jackson and Butts County attended the celebration. They were Mr. and Mrs. Jay Horton, Bobby Whitaker, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Lee Holloway and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cook, Mrs. Madge Holifield, Mr. and Mrs. Perry O’Neal, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McMichael, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Abbott and grandmother, Mrs. Olis Kitchens and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Kitchens. A number of relatives from Atlanta were also present. They included Mrs. Floy Dell Franklin and sons, Robert and Burton, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Coot and Mr. Bert Kitchens. Mr. and Mrs. Ruf fin were congratulated on their many years of mar riage and were wished many more anniversaries. Kimmy, the 9-M> year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Leverette, rode her bicycle 20 miles in the Bike-A-Thon ride for Cystic Fibrosis on Saturday. The children who participated are to be commended for giving their time and strength to so worthy a cause. Fatalities Increase Traffic fatalities on U.S. roads increased two per cent in the first five months of 1976 compared to a similar period the year before, ac cording to the National Safety Council. The safety organization reported 17,230 fatalities compared with 16,790.
