Jackson Golf
Team Wins
Two Matches
By Donnie Norsworthy
The Jackson High golf
team defeated the Newton
County Rams and the
Briarwood Buccaneers of
Atlanta Tuesday, April 19, by
a combined total of 38 strokes
for a nine hole match.
Mosquitoes posed the main
problem for the “Big Red
Machine” on a humid
mosquito ladened golf
course. David Brown once
again proved he’s one of the
better high school golfers in
Central Georgia with one
under par 35.
Brown was followed by the
Norsworthy twins, Ronnie
and Donnie, and Morris
Crockarell all with five over
par 41s.
An unusual note was that
the Norsworthy twins and
Crockarell all double bogey
ed the relatively easy
number five hole. A1 Duke
also participated in the
match.
