Kiwanis Club
Names Officers
For New Year
The Jackson Kiwanis Club
at its meeting Tuesday, May
17th, heard a report from its.
Walk for Mankind chairman
Pete Malone and elected
officers and directors to
serve the Club for the
Kiwanis year of 1977-78.
Richard Ballard was elect
ed president for the upcom
ing year; Kenneth Welch,
first vice-president; Kenny
Smith, second vice-presi
dent, and Hank Hilderbrand,
treasurer.
Named as directors for the
new Kiwanis year were
Ralph Carr, Jr., Harry
Lewis, Vincent Jones, Pete
Malone, James Payne, Ro
gers Starr and Pliny Weaver.
Pete Malone addressed the
Club on its Walk for Mankind
project of Saturday, May
28th, and gave a slide
presentation on the types of
medical services rendered in
over 40 clinics supported
from funds raised by the
Walk for Mankind.
Senior Key Clubbers, some
of whom had been attending
Kiwanis for several years,
were guests of the Club and
led the singing. Present from
Indian Springs Academy
were Charlie Thornton and
George Barber.

Mrs. Geraldine Wright,
who has served as a Key Club
advisor at Jackson High
School for a number of years,
was a guest and paid tribute
to the caliber of the Key Club
members graduating this
year.
