Bailey Jones Honored on Golden Anniversary The Russell Crumbley home was the scene Sunday, May 15th, of the golden wedding anniversary cele bration of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bailey Jones, the lovely affair being given by their four children, Mrs. Russell Crumbley, Mrs. Ben Hill Dover, Mr. W. B. Jones and Mr. S. M. Jones. The home was beautifully decorated with floral ar rangements consisting of yellow roses, carnations, mums, glads, and other spring flowers. Mrs. Winnie Moore was admitted Tuesday, May 17th, to Coweta General Hospital, Newnan, where she was in Intensive Care until last Thursday morning when she was placed in a private room, her many friends will be interested to know. GRIFFIN TECH HAS STUDENT OPENINGS Griffin Tech’s Summer Quarter will begin on July 11th and applications are now being taken. There are openings in most day and evening programs. An aptitude test is required for students applying for the day programs. The test is given each Wednesday at 9:oo a.m. and is not required for the evening programs. THURSDAY, MAY 26, 1977 STARK NEWS By Mrs. B. A. Williamson Members of the Men’s Club of Stark United Methodist Church were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Guest, Jr. on Monday night, May 16th. Eighteen men were present and enjoyed a most delicious supper of barbecue, stew and all the trimmings that accompanied it. The fellow ship of the members and the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Guest were enjoyed to the fullest by everyone present. Jeff Rickerson celebrated his 11th birthday by enter taining a number of friends at a party on Tuesday afternoon of last week. A number of games and the usual boy’s activities were enjoyed. The highlight of the afternoon’s fun were the hot dogs, cake and ice cream served at the close of the party. Invited guests were Wade Grant, Stan Maddox, Shan Phillips and Larkin Lee. Friends sympathize with Mr. and Mrs. Andrews Cook in the death of Mr. Cook’s brother-in-law, Mr. J. B. Montgomery. Death oc curred Friday at his home in Blackstock, S. C. Mrs. Montgomery is the former Miss Opal Cook, a native of Butts County. Gary Pearson returned to his home in Warrenton, Va. this week after having attended a law college in Atlanta for the past three months. He spent most all of his weekends with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Morgan. Little Brian Hunter of Buford visited his grandpa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Thurmon Mullis, while his parents and sister enjoyed a few days at Disney World. They returned on Tuesday and also visited with the Mullis family until Thursday. Andy Kersey, 12-year-old son of Mrs. Andrelyn Kersey, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Andrews Cook, was admitted to Piedmont Hospi tal on Sunday. The many friends of the family hope that Andy will soon be well again. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Williamson and Mrs. Lillian Williamson went over to Griffin on Tuesday where they joined Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hill, of Griffin, and Mr. James B. Williamson of Macon, and attended the unveiling of a monument honoring sixteen veterans of the American Revolutionary War. The monument was a replica of the Washington monument and the names of four veterans were placed on each side of the base. One of the names is John William son, a several generations removed grandfather of Mrs. Hill, Mr. W. C. Williamson Notice To Lot Owners In Jackson City Cemetery On Monday, June 13th, the City will begin a clean-up campaign of the Jackson City Cemetery. City workers have been instructed to remove all dead flowers and flower containers from all grave sites, with the exception of those containers that are attached to, or a permanent part of the grave site. Those citizens having flower containers in the cemetery which they may wish to keep are advised to please remove them prior to the June 13th date to avoid their being destroyed. Citizens need not be concerned about those containers of a permanent nature, as they will not be moved. Your cooperation in this regard will be appreciated. After the services the Williamson family enjoyed a delicious noonday meal with Mr. and Mrs. Hill at their home on Maple Drive. Mrs. Jeanette Cook’s friends are sorry to learn that she is a patient at Georgia Baptist Hospital and hope for her an early recovery. Mr. Thurmon Mullis spent Thursday and Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Branch and family in Atlanta. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hunter, Jennifer and Brian, of Buford, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mullis and Billy. Mrs. Dewey White of Birmingham, Ala. was the guest this week of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd White. She arrived Monday and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gro ver White, and son Lloyd came to return her to Birmingham on Thursday. Fifty-two members of the families were in attendance, several coming from out-of-state. An abun dance of food was brought and everybody ate his fill of the delicious variety of good food. Many had not seen each other since the last reunion and remembrances and kinship renewal as well as current topics of conversa tion made it a day to remember. Mrs. Harry Davis of Hiram, Ga. was the guest on Wednesday and Thursday of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hencely. Mrs. Ina Cawthon of Westbury Home and her family spent Sunday after noon at her home. The group included Mr. and Mrs. Buford Rushing and Alan of Warner Robins, Mr. and Mrs. W. B.
