UNDER POWER IN DEED
TOSECUREDEBT
On the 25th day of July,
1975, FLOYD E. POWELL
executed a real estate Note
for the principle sum of Six
Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00)
to ROBERT L. FENDLEY,
of Route Two, Cleveland,
Georgia, which Note with
interest thereon at the rate of
8 percent per annum was
payable in monthly install
ments of $72.80 each,
beginning on the 25th day of
August, 1975, and continuing
thereafter on the same day of
each succeeding month, with
the final and last installment
being due and payable on the
25th day of July, 1985, each
payment being applied to the
interest then due, and the
balance to the reduction of
the principle balance. Time
was made the essence of the
Contract, and the said Note
contained a provision for the
payment of 10 percent of the
unpaid principle and interest
as Attorney’s Fees if collect
ed by Law or through an
Attorney at Law. In order to
secure the payment of said
Note, the said FLOYD E.
POWELL executed and de
livered to ROBERT L.
FENDLEY a Second Deed to
Secure Debt, conveying to
him under said Second Deed
to Secure Debt, the following
described tract of land, upon

the First Lien, and-or Deed to

POWELL defaulted in mak
ing payments of the monthly
installments as they matur
ed, ROBERT L. FENDLEY,
pursuant to the provisions of
said Promissory Note and
Second Security Deed, as
aforesaid, securing the
same, has exercised his
option and declared the
entire balance due and
collectible. Notice fixing the
liability for Attorney’s Fees
has been given according to
Law. There is a balance as of
the 30th day of June, 1977 of
$5,505.00 besides interest and
Attorney’s fees thereon.
The said Second Deed to
Secure Debt contains a
Power of Sale authorizing the
Grantee ROBERT L. FEND
LEY, as Attorney in fact, for
said Grantor, therein, to sell
the property conveyed there
by, in order to satisfy spid
Note, as well as, subsequent
advances, after advertising
the same once a week for
four (4) weeks in the Official
Gazette of said County of
Butts. In accordance with
said Power of Sale and by
virtue thereof, ROBERT L.
FENDLEY will sell the
property described above at
Public Outcry to the highest
bidder for cash on the first
Tuesday in August before the
Butts County Courthouse
door, the place of public sales
in Jackson, Butts County,
Georgia, within and during
the legal hours of sale.

held. Retainage may be
deposited in escrow accounts
at the option of the
Contractor. Final payment of
amounts withheld or deposit
ed in escrow will not be made
until the State Highway
Engineer has certified that
the work has been satisfac
torily completed and accept
ed.
Projects financed with
Federal funds will contain
provisions with regard to
equal employment opportu
nities, minimum wages,
employment of labor, meth
ods of construction, minority
business enterprise involve
ment, and subletting or
assigning the contract. On
such projects the Depart
ment will insure that
minority business enterprise
contractors will be afforded
full opportunity to submit
bids in response to this
invitation and will not be
discriminated against on the
grounds of race, color, or
national origin in considera
tion for an award. On such
projects all bidders must
certify and document that
potential minority business
enterprise subcontractors
have been contacted and that
their interest, capabilities,
and prices have been
affirmatively solicited.
Any federally financed
work located within the
counties of Fulton, DeKalb,
Cobb, Clayton and Gwinnett,
the estimated cost of which
exceed $500,000.00 will be
subject to the requirements
of the Atlanta Plan. Require
ments of the Atlanta Plan
will be included in the
contract special provisions
where applicable. Copies of
the Atlanta Plan are avail
able from the same source as
plans and proposals.
This advertisement is
merely an invitation for the
submission of bids which are
to be considered as offers for
performance of work by the
submitting party. The state
reserves the right to reject

The Department reserves
the right to release Bidders

SLEEPING BAG
SELECTION & CARE
Camping is currently one
of the more popular outdoor
activities. Camping can be a
comfortable and enjoyable
experience if you have the
right gear and care for it
properly. You need to shop
for all camping equipment
carefully and be extra
selective when selecting a
sleeping bag. because they
are often a large investment.
For beginning campers it
may be wise to borrow or
rent a bag before buying one.
Sleeping bags come in
many sizes and shapes.
Rectangular, tapered, and
mummy styles are some of
the shapes available. A
quality sleeping bag has two
toggle zippers that make it
possible to open both top and
bottom of the bag for
ventilation control.
The outer shell of a
sleeping bag is usually a
synthetic fiber which is
water repellent but not
waterproof. Down or polyes
ter are the most popular
filling materials. Polyester
fill dries much more quickly
than down and stays fluffy
when wet. A polyester fill is a
good choice if you canoe or
participate in other activities

is warmer and lighter in
weight than polyester. It also
compresses better than man
made fill, so it is a better
choice for back packing.
All sleeping bags should be
kept as dry as possible. When
camping, shake and air bags
daily. Bags should be cleaned
before storing. Read labels
for fiber content and care
instructions. (Generally dry
cleaning is not recommended
for a synthetic sleeping bag
because it affects the
fluffiness. Many sleeping
bags can be machine w ashed
and tumbled dry. It may take
several cycles to dry com
pletely. Remove the bag
from the dryer several times
while drying and shake or pat
it to break up damp clumps.
Proper storage is the last
step in taking care of a
sleeping bag. Down needs air
and should be stored loosely
in a clean, dry place.
Synthetic-filled bags can be
stored either flat or loosely
rolled. When removed from
storage both types of bags
should be allowed to air.
Shake and fluff before using.
If a wise purchase is made
and proper care taken, a
sleeping bag should last
many years.
