Smith of Route 5, Jackson, announces the engagement and forth coming marriage of her daughter. Becky Renee, to Mr. Randy Gerald Griffith of Griffin. Georgia. Miss Smith is the daughter of the late Mr. Robert E. Smith. Her late grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. W. Cleveland Smith and Mr. and Mrs. J. Albert Turner, all of Jackson. After graduation from Jackson High School, she completed a year of Business Education at Griffin-Area Vo-Tech School. Presently, she is in her fourth year of employment for the State Department of Human Re sources and Spalding County Health Department. AL SMITH CELEBRATES SIXTH BIRTHDAY A1 Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith, 565 Franklin Street, celebrated his sixth birthday July 20 with a party at his home which many of his friends attended. In addition to a hot dog cookoul, homemade ice cream and cake were enjoyed by all in attendance. Present for the party were Michael Beeland, Sam Tay lor, Glen Parker, Prissy Cook, Myra, Sammy, Lamar and Leon Smith, Cindy Brittain, Danny and Elaine Kendrick, Andy Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. TIFT TO HAVE WORKSHOP FOR RAH-RAH GIRLS Junior and senior high school cheerleader squads will gather at Tift College on August 14-17 for an education workshop presented by Gold en Eagle Cheerleader Schools. The wedding will be Sunday, September 18, at 3:30 p.m. at the Towaliga Baptist Church in Jackson. No local invitations are being sent, but all relatives and friends are cordially invited to witness the ceremony and to attend the reception to follow. Mrs. Smith's program included Mozart’s Fantasy D. Minor, K. 397; Sonata Op. 79 bv Beethoven; Schu mann's “Grillen;” Creston’s Prelude Op. 38. No. 2; and "Piano Moods” by William Schuman. Mrs. Smith, a student of Miss Lois Lantz, associate professor of piano and theory at Tift, is the wife of Lonnie Smith. Mr. and Mrs Dwayne Booth and Jeremy were in an automobile accident last Sunday on their way to Charleston, S. C. Mrs. Booth was injured and carried to a hospital in Greensboro, and later transferred to Griffin. She was released on Wednes day and has been with her grandmother, Mrs. Minnie Lee Hodges. Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Booth and Jeremy have moved back to Worthville from Charleston, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. John Stever son of Jackson visited Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Ireland Saturday afternoon and together they attended the singing at Phillipi Baptist Church. Mrs. W. S.
