. n £ #';#&* Miss Mary Glidewell Becomes Bride Of Mr. David L. Kissel Miss Mary Geraldine Glidewell and Mr. David Lee Kissel were joined in holy matrimony at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, Georgia on July 2nd. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Glide well. Sr. of Jackson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Leroy Kissel of Midland, Texas. The nuptial Mass was celebrated by Rev. Peter Washington, C.S.S.R., with Larry Deraney, Chuckie Williams, Danny Dahlin, and Timmy Patterson as altar boys. Scripture readings, chosen by the bride and groom, were read by Mr. Hugh M. Glidew'ell, Jr., brother of the bride, of Jackson. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white silk organza trimmed with Venice lace and satin ribbon. Her veil was chapel length with matching Venice lace with blusher veil attached. She carried a bouquet of white snapdragons, daisies, and carnations. The sanctuary of the church was decorated with candelabras and ferns with two large arrangements of white gladioli, snapdragons, daisies, and mums adorning the altar. Single candles with ivy decorated each window. Miss Rebecca Glidewell, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Janice Lueken, sister of the bride of Jackson, Mrs. Ann Milligan, of Birmingham, Alabama, Miss Cathy Sewell of Mobile, Alabama, Miss Suzie Reeves of Mobile, Alabama. Miss Cathy Jackson of Jackson served as junior bridesmaid. The attendants wore floor length dresses of yellow quiana, fashioned with em pire waist and v-neck. They carried nosegays of white daisies. Mr. Jim Scott of Mobile, Alabama served as best man. Beautiful renditions of the Lord's Prayer. Ave Maria, and God Is Love were presented by Mrs. Nancy Hall with Mr. Ronnie Stephens providing accom paniment. The bride's mother chose a floor length gown of aqua crepe with jacket. The groom's mother wore a gown of aqua chiffon. Both wore white cymbidium orchids. The bride presented both mothers with a white rose from her bouquet at the Kiss of Peace during the Mass. Johnny and Amy Lueken, nephew and niece of the bride, presented the gifts at the offertory of the Mass. The reception followed in the reception hall at the C&S Bank of Jackson. Decora tions included one large arrangement of snapdra gons, daisies and multi colored flowers in brass candelabra on the main serving table. The three-tiered wedding cake, embossed in white, was decorated with yellow, laven der and white daisies with doves set in the columns separating two tiers of the cake. The bride’s book was kept by Miss Barbara Glidewell, sister of the bride. Serving the cake and refreshments were Mrs. Anne W. Glidewell of Jackson, Mrs. Katherine Glidewell of Griffin, and Mrs. Diane Glidewell of Augusta, all sisters-in-law of the bride. Champagne was served by Mr. Thomas Jester of Jackson. Cathy, Michael, David Jackson and Johnny, Joey and Amy Lueken, nieces and nephews of the bride, gave out rice bags at the reception. REHEARSAL DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Leroy Kissel hosted the rehearsal dinner for the bride and groom on the evening of July Ist at the Holiday Inn in Griffin. The menu included fresh tossed green salad, chicken cordon bleu, green beans almondine, and twice baked potatoes. A lovely arrangement of white snapdragons, gladioli, daisies and mums decorated the center table. Candles with ivy decorated the two remaining tables. Rev. and Mrs. W. P. (Bill) Whitlatch, Ellen, Danny and David of Kenly, N. C. were visiting in the community last week and attended worship services at Mace donia Church on Sunday morning. Rev. Whitlatch is a former associate pastor and minister of music at Mace donia and is now' pastor of Kenly Baptist Church. He is attending the Baptist Semi nary at Wake Forest, N. C. Just before the preaching hour on Sunday morning he sang “Stranger of Galilee.” Mrs. Don Thurmon is at home after having undergone surgery and several days confinement in Georgia Bap tist Hospital. She is conva lescing satisfactorily. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Cook and Randy spent last, w eekend in the mountains of Cherokee, N. C. They visited Maggie Valley, the Blue Ridge Parkway and other places of interest. Mrs. Bobo is the aunt of Mrs. Morgan and is seriously ill. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reese returned home last week from a visit of two weeks with relatives in Arkansas. Mr. and Mrs. Cline Bradley visited Mrs. Eulis Sosby on Thursday at Crawford-Long Hospital. Mrs. Sosby is doing nicely after having had surgery earlier in the week. They also visited Mrs. Frank Donaldson in Conyers. Mrs. Donaldson’s husband is a patient in DeKalb General Hospital. Mrs. Bessie Altomare and daughter, Miss Vanda Alto mare of New York City, N.
