their daughter, Deborah
Elaine, to Ernest Graham
Gibson, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Norman D. Gibson of
Jackson Lake.
The bride-elect is the
granddaughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Dukes of
Molena and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Bonnie Dunn of Means
ville.
Miss Dukes is a graduate of
Pike County High School and
is presently attending West

Mrs. Bill Jones was hostess
at a lovely linen shower at
her home on Thursday, July
28, honoring bride-elect
Janet Robison.
Winning a party game was
Mrs. Lamar Jinks, who
presented her prize to the
bride. After Miss Robison
had opened many lovely
gifts, the guests were invited
into the dining room for
refreshments.
Assisting Mrs. Jones was
her sister, Mrs. Bob Lucas of
Marietta, who served punch,
along with sandwiches,
cakes, cheese straws, nuts
and mints. Shades of yellow
were used throughout the
decorations, and a lovely
yellow daisy corsage was
presented to the honor guest.

Kyle McMichael returned
Sunday evening from an
enjoyable trip to San Diego,
California where he attended
the 90th Bomb Group
Association Convention, July
28-31.
Miss Jessie Sessions re
turned home Sunday from
Georgia Baptist Hospital
where she underwent recent
eye surgery.

Jackson High School and is
also attending West Georgia
College as a finishing senior.
The wedding will be August
21 at 8:30 o’clock in the
evening at the home of the
groom on Jackson Lake. A
reception will follow the
wedding. All friends and
relatives are invited.

The bride and groom, both
in the U. S. Air Force, will
make their temporary home
in Selma, Alabama until
moving to Reese AFB,
Lubbock, Texas in mid-Au
gust.

Monticello, became the bride
of Joseph V. Deptula, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Deptula
of 613 Covington Street,
Jackson, on Sunday, July
24th, at three o’clock.
The wedding took place at
the home of the bride’s
parents with the Reverend J.
O. Fuller performing the
ceremony.
Following the wedding a
reception was held in the
Jones’ dining room with a
tiered wedding cake, punch,
mints, and nuts served the
guests.
The bride is a 1977
graduate of Jackson High
School. The groom graduated
from Jackson High School in
1975.
The couple left for Scotland
by plane on Monday, July
25th, and arrived there safely
early Tuesday morning, July
26 th.
They will reside for a year
or two in Sand Bank,
Scotland, where the groom is
stationed with the U. S.
Navy, aboard the U.S.S.
Holland.
