of Fairburn, former park
superintendent (1938-41),
visited friends at Indian
Springs and were guests at
the Elder Hotel over the
weekend. They attended the
Robison-McKibben wedding
Saturday night.
Seaman Steven Bennett
returned to Norfork, Va.
after spending a few days
with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Bennett.
Mrs. Minerva Torbett was
recent guest of Mr. and Mrs.
Raymond Horne of Stone
Mountain.
Mr. J. T. Bearden was host
to Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Greer
of Tifton, Thursday. Mr.
Greer was former sheriff of
that city.
Mrs. Bill Holloway visited
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Everette
in Irwinton, Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Fletcher spent a few days at
Jekvll Island last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Neil Mullis,
Nickels and Spence of Dublin
visited relatives here over
the weekend.
Sidney Johnson, son of Dr.
and Mrs. Sidney Johnson of
Hazlehurst, is spending a few
days with his grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Spencer
Johnson.
Mrs. Jeannine Fitzgerald
of Marietta was weekend
guest of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Joel Crane.
Mr. and Mrs. Glynn Wright
of Forsyth visited Mrs.
Lynda Rastello Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Joel Crane,
Mrs. Jeannine Fitzgerald,
Mr. and Mrs. Skeeter Grant
and Adam, Mrs. Daisy
Grant, Mr. and Mrs. Danny
Hoard and Barrett and Mr.

those attending the Turner
reunion in the State Park,
Sunday.

Ann Norris of Albany, and
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wood
cock from Canada who are
making their home perma
nently at Albany, Ga.
Misses Winnie and Carolyn
Taylor attended the Robison-
McKibben wedding Saturday
night.
Mrs. Margaret Greer, Mr.
and Mrs. Buster Duke, Lynne
and A1 visited last week with
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zontek
and family in Tallahassee,
Fla. and a few days at
Panama City, Fla.
FATHER OF FLOVILLA
RESIDENT DIED
Funeral services for Mr.
Walter Robert Arnold were
held Thursday afternoon,
July 28th, in the Hudson
Funaral Home in Otisville,
Michigan. Mr. Hudson, who
died the previous Monday in
Flint, Mich., was a former
resident of Griffin.
He is survived by a son,
Ronnie Arnold, of Flovilla; a
daughter in Petersburg, Va.,
and six sons who make their
home in Griffin.
SERGEANT MADDOX
WINS PROMOTION
Marine Sergeant Claude N.
Maddox, Jr., son of Mr. and
Mrs. Claude Maddox, of
Route's,'Jackson, has been
promoted to his present rank
while serving with Marine
Helicopter Squadron One,
which is homebased at
Marine Corps Air Facility,
Quantico, Va.
A 1973 graduate of Jackson
High School, he joined the
Marine Corps in September,
1973.
