Robison-McKibben Vows Spoken At Beautiful Church Ceremony Janet Robison and Donald Colwell McKibben were united in marriage in an impressive candlelight ser vice on August sixth at eight o’clock in the evening. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Reverend Phil DeMore at the Jackson United Methodist Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Elwood Robison, Jr. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Elwood Robison, Sr. of Jackson, and her maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Van Wilson Fretwell. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Cleveland McKibben. His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Ponder Colwell, Sr., and his paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Grover Cleveland McKibben, Sr. Mr. Ronald Stephens, organist, played nuptial music and accompanied Mrs. Larry Morgan who sang “Take Thou My Love” and “Evergreen”. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was radiant in a gown of white silk organza. The bodice was of Brussels lace which formed a high neckline and tiny cap sleeves. The lace was beautifully appliqued down the front of the dress and around the hemline of the Chapel train. Her Chapel veil covered a lace Juliet cap and was bordered by the same Brussels lace as that on her gown. She carried a cascade of white rubrium lilies and stephanotis. Miss Virginia Watkins served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Misses Kathy Maddox, Karen New man and Patty O’Neal, and Mrs. James C. Browning, all of Jackson, and Miss Nan Harrington of Jacksonville, Florida. They wore floor length gowns of carnation pink knit crepe fashioned with pink and white chiffon capes. Usher groomsmen were James Brown, Tim Colwell, Tom and Charles Robison, bro thers of the bride, and Greg Swany. The couple exchanged vows before the altar table which held an arrangement of pink rubrium lilies and pink roses. In the back ground were tree candela bras with softly glowing white tapers. Alternating pews held hurricane lamps with white tapers and decorated with Sprengeri fern. Three branch candela bras with white tapers and fern were placed in each window. For her daughter’s wed ding, Mrs. Robison chose a floor length gown of coral chiffon. A white orchid corsage completed her at tire. Mrs. McKibben, mother of the groom, wore an emerald green crepe gown with matching jacket and a white orchid corsage. Following the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Robison entertained at a reception at the Elder Hotel at Indian Springs. On each side of the entrance to the dining room was a bird bath filled with colorful garden flowers and Sprengeri fern. Here, the guests signed the bride’s book which was attended by Misses Laura Landers and Julia Ann Ridgeway. The bride’s table was laid with an embroidered Italian cutwork cloth, belonging to the bride’s grandmother. In the center was a five tiered cake topped with a nosegay of pink roses and fern, and flanked by silver candelabras holding glowing white tapers. The hors-d’oeuvre table held a center arrangement of pink rubrium lilies, pink roses, daisies and fuji mums, and was flanked by silver candelabras. Assisting in serving punch and cake were Misses Terri Dodson, Tanzie Norsworthy, THE JACKSON PROGRESS-ARGUS, JACKSON, GEORGIA Tabi Williamson, Melanie Colwell, Lynn Saunders, Debra Dawson, and Reba Kelly. Mr. William F. Hindley poured champagne and was assisted in serving by Miss Lisa Landers. Amy Howell, cousin of the bride, and Leah Nix gave pink satin rice roses and rice bags to the guests. Following a wedding trip to the Bahamas the couple will reside in Macon, Georgia. REHEARSAL Following the rehearsal on Friday evening, the groom’s parents entertained at a dinner at their country home. KENDRICK The Linda Nabors Mission ary Circle of Pleasant Grove Congregational Methodist Church met for the monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Peggy Kendrick Tuesday evening. August 9.
