.son,
THANKS TO YOU
ETHERIDGE-SMITH CO.
People of Butts County
It isn’t easy to live to be 95, either as an individual or as a business. This business
was founded in 1882 when three young men came to Jackson to open a mercantile
store. Frank Etheridge, Asa Smith and Hiram Huddleston were the three original own
ers.
Through wars, depressions, natural disasters and times of prosperity, this business
has endured because of:
LOYAL PATRONS
VALUED EMPLOYEES
FRIENDLY SERVICE
QUALITY MERCHANDISE
We attribute our success, and endurance, to these factors: good, loyal patrons
who like our friendly service, quality products and employees like Mrs. Mattie Mad
dox, with 44 years of service, and James Besley, with 33 years, and many others who
have helped build our image as a pleasant store in which to shop.
We thank you all for helping us reach
this ripe old age and we pledge you to
