ly. Tho Fertilizer report is worth many’
dollars to the farmer. The Act of the
Legislature to establish an Agricultural
experiment station, is given in full. Re¬
ports on seeds tested occupies a good deal
of space, and is worthy of a careful peru¬
sal. In fact, ovCry line in it is so useful
to the farmeis. that we feel it useless to
say more about it.

By virtue of an order from Hon. II. S.
Hook, Stato School Commissioner, only

of applicants for teachers license to teach
public schools, which will be held at the

Wednesday afternoon a little after 2
o’clock, the lire alarm was sounded, and
the citizens dropping ftll business, hurried
to the O’Connor residence, which is occu¬
pied by Mr. Rhodes. Tho fire was • a
small one, having started in tho kitchen
and was extinguished before any damage
.vas done. It was reported at first that it
was Peterson’s warehouse, and some ot
' he boys rushed to the engine house and
got out the hose reel, they got It there
just in time to meet the crowd coming out
of the yard. Tho fire is supposed to have
started from a box of hot, ashes taken
hom the stove and left unwatched in the
kitchen.

sible to get a hint of what was going on,
