The news of the death of Mrs. R.
\V. Irwin, which occurred at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Evans, in San
dersville, last Sunday, was received in
Fort Gaines with universal sorro v.
Mrs. Irwin had been in failing health
for two or three years, having suffered
much from some affection of the liver.
Some weeks since she went to San
dorsville with the hope of being bene
litied and with a purpose n: undergo¬
ing au operation, but gtovi ug rapidly
worse she died before having an op
portunity of availing herself of surgical
skill.
She was a lady of most, excellent
Christian character, and was greatly
esteemed by her acquaintances gen¬
erally.
Besides her aged husband she leaves
a son and daughter, Mr. (J. R, Irwin,
of Fort Ganies, and Mrs Evans, of
Sandersvilie, and other near relatives }
to mourn her death, to all of whom the

dolence.
Her remains were intoned at the
family burying grounds at Worthing
near Sandersvilie.

The next attraction of the Lyceum
Course will he Edward II.- Frye, M 011 -
ologist, who will appear in “David
Harura” aud “Rip Van Winkle” on
Saturday nighi February 22.
The attractions of the course have
been excellent, and the management
is fortunate in its selections of the num¬
bers.
We may all expect a rare treat from
Mr. Frye in his rendition of the popu¬
lar charpicter “David Ilarum” and im¬
personations of “Rip Vau Winkle.”
In order to give every one the op¬
portunity of hearing Mr. Frye, the
price will be reduced to the modest
