Editor Douglas Enterprise,— I wou’d
kindly ask you for space; in your papei
to say a v. ord in reference to my friend,
Mr. K. V. L. Day, who is a candidate
for 'treasurer. I want to say this,
that I have known Mr. Day for seveia
! years, and that I know him to be ;
j honest, upright man. He has a v y
| large fa...ily to care for, and as evt.
ote knows he is in bad condition to o
it. Mis friends in this section hop*
that he will get to where his life is noi
endangered, and that he will soon get
able to look after his business, but as
all know, he is not able to do this. He
is going to get a good vote in our sec- j
tion and we trust that he will Ret enoug! j
votes to elect him. We feel like hi ‘
needs our help and we are always re dy
to help a rr.an when we think he need:

ever been before the people for am

as a good treasurer. His friends ii
this district will appreciate the he j

Mr. Day is a good business man art
should the peopie see lit to entrust hin

Government Maps.
It may not be known to f.omt

The Mass Meeting.
A large and representative
lumber of Coffee county citizem
tu t in the Courthouse last Mon
lay and elected a new executivt
lommittee. The meeting passe<
ff very pleasantly, and was sat
sfactory, so far as we have beei
tble to ascertain, as there wa
to business except the election of
in executive committee.
Three good men were appoint
ed from each district, and they
will meet the third Monday ii
May to name a date for th<
county primary. We have n
iuggostions to make to ihes*
men. as we are satisfied they wil
lo what they think will be bes
for the political situation in Cof
fee county. We trust that they
will see fit to place st» ingent re
strictio -a on the use of whiskey in
the primary. No man should bt
allowed to hold an office, where
the negro is eliminated, who can
not get the majority of the votes
without the use of whiskey and
other unfair and scurvy mean?
that are sometimes resorted to in
trying to get elected. The man
who does it will not get our vote
and the Enterprise will give him
some attention before the elec
tion, if it can be ascertained that
such has been done. We want
purity in politics in Coffee. Can
we get it ?
Why take a dozen things to cure
that cough ? Kennedy’s Laxative
Honey and Tar allays the conges
tion, stops that tickling, drives
the cold out through your bowels.
