Has This Man Gone Crazy f
NO!!
No doubt some folks will say that he is
Acting like a Crazy Man.
MHY?
Because He Will Actually Give Away
$300.00 In Gold At
ROCHELLE, GEORGIA, WEDNESDAY JUNE 19th, 1907.
Here is the proposition briefly told:
r
f
-<sf B.E. WILCOX, §e>-
FITZGERALD, or, ROCHELLE, GA
He owns 215 choice residence lots on the High Lands of Rochelle, Georgia.
This property up to a very recent date was not on the market. These lots are
located in the very best, highest and healthiest portion of the town and join
hard by the most desirable and highest-priced residence lots in Rochelle.
On June 19th 1907,
Not less than iQO of these lots, and possibly all of them, will be sold at
Auction, and, to induce a large crowd, the owner will actually give to the pros
pective buyers 60, 5-dollar gold pieces. Each white lady and gentleman will be
given a coupon ticket having corresponding numbers on them. These tickets
will be corn in to and one number will be held by the prospective buyer and the
other one will be put into a box held by the Auctioneer. And at intervals during
the Auction Sale the box will be shaken and tickets will be drawn until 60 have
been drawn. Each drawer will be entitled to a
s=Dollar Note or Gold Piece
until the $300.00 has in this way been given away. This money will be given
away to induce a large crowd of people to attend the Auction. And, if the
crowd is large enough, we will sell the entire 215 lots and give away SSOO in
stead of S3OO. Nothing like this was ever offered the public in this section before.
Rochelle, Georgia,
Has more good farming lands adjacent than any other South Georgia town. It is aaid on good
authority that a dinner horn blown in the center of Rochelle on a calm day could be heard and an
swered by the bray of mules plowing lands that produce one thousand bales of cotton.
Rochelle is one South Georgia town that has never under-gone a boom. Her growth has been
steady and gradual. We are informed that more merchandise is shipped to Rochelle and more cotton
shipped away from Rochelle, than from any other point on the Seaboard Air Line Railway between
Americus and Savannah, Georgia not a junction point.
For a long number of years Wilcox county was in a state of turmoil over the court house
question, and we are told that that question is brewing again, but, in order to avoid another court
house fight, both factions have practically agreed to divide the county and at the next session of the
General Assembly a bill will probably be introduced by Hon. S. B. Reid, of Rochelle, to create
another new county in Georgia with Rochelle as the capitol.
The Southern Railway, we predict, will some day extend their road from Hawkinsville via
Rochelle, Fitzgerald, Ocilla, Valdosta and on to the gulf, in order to scoop in her share of the Panama
Canal trade.
Negotiations are going on for a Cotton-Seed Oil Mill and a Fertilizer Mixing Plant at Rochelle.
These 215 Lots at Rochelle will be
Sold at Public Auction,
and on very easy terms. One-fourth cash and the balance payable in three, six and nine months.
If purchasers desire to pay all cash 5 per cent, discount will be allowed.
The Fitzgerald Brass Band will be on the grounds and will give concerts throughout the day.
In case of rain or other trouble preventing the sale on the 19th, we will sell on the following day.
Don’t forget the date of sale,
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19th, 1907.
Now, with Free Railroad Fare to Purchasers, Free
Brass Band Music, Free Hacks, and from three to five
hundred dollars in gold given away promiscuously,
Rochelle should have a GALA DAY ON JUNE 19. 1907.
