Our readers wil) find the Grand I
Ju>-y presentments in this issue. 1
Tney will show that the jury did
fine work in behalf of the county
tin’s week. The jury was com
posed of the best people in The
county and were so distributed
as to represent every section of
the county. Their work was
finished last Wednesday after
noon and the jurors were dis
missed and went home before the
court itself was ready to adjourn.
We have always held Judge
Parker in very high esteem and
we have never known of him
doing anything that we did not
fully endorse and appreciate.
He has been very instrumental
in lifting the moral standard in
the various counties that compose
the Brunswick circuit, and as to
whether he remains on the bench
or not, his influence will bo felt
in these counties for many years
to come. We were specially
gratified at what he had to say
to the Grand Jurors when this
■oble body had finished its work
and were ready to adjourn. He
took occasion to commend tke
jurors of the county in the most
frank and earnest way. He said
that no county furnished a better
class of jurors and that in no
county had the jurors been ele
vated to a higher comprehension
of the duty the juror owed to his
people in the upholding and en
forcing the law. He commended
them for having been raised above
racial prejudice and in the fact
that they meted out justice to
the white as w r ell as the colored.
We are glad to note that there
has been a great general im
provement of our people during
the last ten years.
The Grand Jury’s recommenda
tion in reference to the Agri
cultural school met with Judge
Parkers highest approval, and
in dismissing the jury he took
occasion to say that this county
should be highly commended for
the great advanced stand that it
was taking along educational
lines. He said that without an
education our children could only
be “hewers of wood and drawers
of water.” That education was
the only thing that elevate a
community or a county in such a
way as to elevate tke people to
highest ideals, and that educa
tion would develop this county,
with its favored natural advant
ages, as nothing else «ould do.
Coffee county’s reputation has
gone abroad and there are few
counties in this great state that
is receiving so much considera
tion at the hands of the outside
world. Our unanimity, when it
comes to matters of a general
interest, is growing proverbial,
and we trust that it will be a
long time before any one under
takes to injure the ceunty and
her interests by undertaking to do
things that will not meet with the
approval of the great majority
of the best people of the county.
We hope that the county wil! live
up to the predictions of its future
made by Judge Parker. We
trust that there will not come
any thing within its bounds that
will tend to mar the solid unani
mity that characterizes it and
that assures its future, and the
only thing that can secure the
future prosperous condition of
any town, county, community or
state. We believe that most of
our peoole are going to see that
there arises nothing that will
interfere with our development
and future. There are some that
will never be satisfied, saying
that the place is not just what
the preacher told them it was.
However, the development of the
i county and her commercial, ed
ucational and all other interests

Tells How to Mix it.
•
A well-known authority on
Rheumatism gives the readers of
a large New York daily paper the '
following valuable, yet simple |
and harmless prescription, which
any one can easily prepare at
home:
Fluid Extract Dandelion, one
half ounce; Compound Kargan,
one ounce; Compound Syrup
Sarsaparilla, three ounces.
Mix by shaking well in a bottle,
and take a teaspoonful after each
meal and at bedtime.
He states that the ingredients
can be obtained from any good
prescription pharmacy at small
cost, and, being of vegetable ex
traction, are harmless to take.
This'pleasant mixture, if taken
regularly for a few days, is said
to overcome almost any case of
Rheumatism.. The pain and
swelling, if any, diminishes with
each dose, until permanent results
are obtained, and without*injur
ing the stomach. While there
are many so called Rheumatism
remedies, patent medicines, etc.,
some of which do give relief,
few really give permanent results
and the above will, no doubt, be
greatly appreciated by many
sufferers here at this time.
Inquiry at the drug stores of
this neighborhood elicits the in
! formation that these drugs are
; harmless and can he bought sep
arately, or the druggists here
will mix the prescription for our
readers if asked.
that are for its good are going
on, and a little hindrance now
and then will only act as a stimu
lant to higher and nobler achieve
ments.
Wo thank Judge Parker for
what he said about Coffee county
and her people and the bright
future that he predicts for us.

Dear Sirs: A new word has
come into use in paint; it is strong.
Strong paint is paint as strong
as can be. Weak paint is paint
not so strong.
If one paint takes 10 gallons
to do a job and another 15, the
10-gallon paint is the stronger.
If one paint wears 10 years,
and another 5, the 10-year paint
is the stronger.
The strongest paint is the one
tl}at takes least gallons and wears
longest.
But do such differences exist?
Yes, and greater. Devoe is the
strongest of all. A job that takes
10 gallons Devoe takes more than
10 of some. And a job of Devoe
wears several times as long as a
job of some paints.
O. E. Perry, EastSthSt., Erie,
Pa., painted two houses same
size; same time; with two paints
same price; took 3 gallons Devoe
to 4 of ths other; and in thr«e
years Devoe was the better look
ing job.
There are strong and weak
paints; we all want the strongest;
paint can’t be too strong.
