in their car Tuesday for a visit to

this week. Roddie Davis expects to

William Terrell will probably leave
in a few days to enter Tech.
Messrs. O. F. Deen and H. M. Love
spent a few days in Atlanta this week.

of the prettiest cars in the city.

On last Friday afternoon the W. C.
T. U. held its regular meeting at the
Baptist church Miss Kate Wilcox
gave an excellent talk on the prac
tices of buying some harmful patent
medicines, and Miss Mildred McDon
ald a very enjoyable reading.

On Tuesday morning the young la
dies of the faculty entertained the
student body and a number of visitors
from Douglas. The program consist
ed of piano and voice selections by
Miss Marie Davis, reading by Miss
Elise Meadows, and after these exer
cises Miss Myrtle Bailey took the vis
itors through the departments of Do
mestic Science and Art.
The house keepers were greatly in
terested in the cream separator which
was on display in the milk room. All
remarked about the cleanliness of the
place, and the patrons seemed delight
ed with the interest and enthusiasm
shown by the faculty,
The Qui Vive Club.
On thursday evening Miss Fannie
Gilliard was hostess to the Qui Vive
Club at the beautiful home of Mrs.
H. C. Whelehel on Pearl street. The
game of rook was played, and de
lightful refreshments served. Be

Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Dickerson, Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Meeks, Mr. and Mrs.

On Thursday afternoon the U. D.
C.’s met and were pleasantly enter
tained at the residence of Mrs. R. R.
Woodard. After a most entertaining
literary and historical program, a
short business session was held, in
which Mrs. Hall and Mrs. A. F. Cof
fee were elected delegates to the con
vention at Thomasville.
The annual election of officers was
next in order, and the same efficient
corps was unanimously re-elected.

Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wilson, of
Jacksonville, Fla., are guests at the
home of their nephew, Mr. G. L. Bush,
at Pridgen and Douglas.

singing of the Salem Class at the
convention on the second Sunday. I
