Yea, brother; just seven cars loaded down with most of the hustling hu manity from the peceful little hamlet of Broxton, honk-honked into our midst last Tuesday to do battlelwith our bse ball team. It seems that the two stinging defeats administered them by Nicholls on recent occasions aroused their ire to such an extent that to efface these blots on heir es cucheon, and to celebrate what they considered sweet revenge, they came prepared wih a bevy of the fair sex, and they in turn let forth such a notely assortment of yells, that would make a Comanche best efforts look cheap. They used them to the best advantage when the third inning of the game had gone with the score 4 to 1 in Broxton’s favor, but thereafter it was noticed that their strenuous vocabulary had greatly diminished, when the Nicholls batters began to hit the ball with the desired results. Well, brother, the game was a pip pin and the result, Nicholls, 7, Brox ton 6. And when the disappointed rooters of Broxton wended their weary ■EI IB S interest, and upon very desirable terms.
