Miss Eva Douglas visited Miss Lil lie White Monday afternoon. Mr. J. E. Moore and sister have gone to Jasper, Fla., to attend the funeral of their nephew who was struck with a Base ball in the temple. He bled to death nstantly. Dr. Moore and family, of Folkston, are spending the week with his fath er and mother. Misses Kate and Maggie McCarthy called at the home of Mrs. Carter Monday. Mr. Isham Patterson, of Waresboro, is spending a week in this commun ity. Mr. Willie Minchew visited home folks Sunday. Mr. John White and wife are vis iting relatives at Bickley this week. Mr. Ira Moore called on Miss Gattie Jordan Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Hancel Cole made a business trip to Nicholls, Monday. Mr. Tom Bagley and son visited Mr. B. J. Minchew Sun Cay. Mr. L. R. Thompson and wife spent the week-end with her brother, Mr. Reuben Taylor. Mr. Dan Smith, Jr., spent Saturday night at the home of Mr. Elias Moore. Mr. Arthur Moore called on Miss Maggie Minchew Friday night. Mr. W. W. Meeks and family vis ited their mother at Nicholls Satur day. Messrs. William Hursey and Ed Lee made a business trip to Nicholls Saturday. Mr. Walter was in this section on Monday. Mrs. Olive Denton’s family attend ed church at Roriemay Sunday. Mr. Tally Kirkland was the guest of Miss Maggie Minchew Sunday af ternoon. Mr. Robert Meeks had a long face Sunday. Mr. Cannon is looking very cool these days, as he is expecting rain soon. MAY POP. SEARS NEWS. O ° A large crowd attended church at Harrell Grove Saturday and Sunday. Rev. J. R. Thigpen filled his regu lar appointment. His two oldest daughters came with him. Also Rev. Tyson preached at 5 in the afternoon. The farmers of this section have been very busy, and their crops are sure looking fine. Mrs. Wilburn Cowart’s twin babies have been very sick for some time* Mrs. Ida Tanner was the guest of her sister, Mrs. Hamp Sears, Sunday. Quite a large crowd of young folks dined with Miss Mary Sears Sunday. Mrs. Warren Tanner is spending a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Cowart. Misses Cathleen Davis, Nora Bai ley, Lessie Harper, Mrs. Warren Ward Hannie Bailey, Edgar Cowart and Berry Harper, were all guests of Mattie Mae Hutchinson Sunday af ternoon. Mr. Leon Tanner was the guest of Miss Winnie Lee Harrell Sunday af ternoon. Masters Edgar Cowart and Warren Tanner were visitors at the home of Mr. Wiley Sear’s Sunday night Miss Delia Nipper taken dinner with Miss Bessie Joiner Sunday. Mr. Joe Maine was the guest of Miss Mary Sears Sunday. Miss Winnie Sears spent Saturday night with Miss Mary Scars. Mrs. Tom Adams is spending a few days with her mother this week. Master Edgar Cowart returned Fri day night after a week’s visit to Tif ton and Brookfield. Misses Nora Bailey, Winnie and Mary Sears, and some others, were pleasant visitors of Miss Lessie Har per Saturday night. Miss Mattie Mae Hutchinson went to town Saturday. Misses Annie Belle and Pearl Scars dined with Miss Mary Sears Sunday. Best wishes to The Enterprise and Uncle Jim. BROWN EYES. !° McDonald news. o- ° Rev. C. E. Rick, of Blirsville, Ga., a brother-in-lay of J. H. Gavendar, treated us to a fine sermon in the methodist church Sunday night. A large crowd gathered o hear him and grealy enjoyed the sermon. Superintendent Y. 0. Mathews has put on another one of his attractive schemes as usual. It is having a good effect—premium cards. W. E. Outlaw and J. W. Hunter were elected delegates to the Sunday school conversion in Atlanta I’rbm the McDonald school. B. L. Davis and daughter, Miss Delma, were with us Sunday, and of course you know we had some good vocal music. Crops are doing fine. The rain on Tuesday was highly appreciated. Lonnie Davis would like to know what nice things was said about him for the use of his horse and buggy Sunday afternoon. F. B. Wells is at White Springs for his health. Glad to know he is feeling better. Miss Addie Mae White says she like sthe boy with big feet,so look around boys, and you can find out who he is. He is a fine old boy. Mrs. Joe McDonald has a fine gar den, and Joe is feasting on roasting ears, etc. Wedding bells are ringing very low methinks the sound will be clear by last of July. Keep your ears clear so you can locate the sound. J. B. White is our railroad agent now. Glad to have Barney with us. Dr. McDonald says he is making some corn this year. He is thinking of his old sows and pigs, plenty of bacon is a good thing to have. O () MT. ZION DOTS. 6 o We are having dry weather in this section, but hoping to have some rain soon. Mr. Borland spent last Sunday at the home of Mr. J. H. Wall. A large crowd from this section attended the New County Rally at Pearson Saturday. All report a nee tme. Miss Renna Olin and Hmoer Gillis were the guests of Miss Emmie and Charlie Wall Sunday. Mr. B. L. Davis and daughter, Del ma, are expecting to spend the fol lowing Saturday and Sunday in Mont gomery county. Messrs. Norman Gillis and Charlie Wall attended church at Stokcsville Sunday. Mr. Clarence King, of near Mc- Donald, was at Pe Pearson last Sat urday.. Mr. Olin Gillis and Misses Renna Gillis, Minnie and Emmie Wall made a flying trip to Millwood Sunday af ternoon. A crowd from this section attended Sunday school at McDonald Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Minnie Wall spent last Mon day at the home of Mrs. Belle Gillis. Miss Emmie Wall is on the sick list this week. Corbitt and Misses Jimmie and Lois Linder went to Douglas Thurs day to hear Rev. Arthur Moore. Mrs. Q. J. Pinson Is visiting her father at Albany this week. Miss Belle O’Quinn, of Broxton, is the guest of Mrs. Dan Gaskin. Miss Gladys Brinson, of HomervHle, is the guest of Mrs. R. A. Brinson. Rev. Q. J. Pinson and Mr. E. L. Peterson are attending the District Conference at Morven this week. Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Oberry spent several days in Cochran last week. Mrs. Sherod Corbitt and children are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs J. R. Pucket, at Hahira. Misses Myrtle and Renna Mae Pat terson, who have been visiting rela tives here, left for Waycross Satur day. Mrs. C. W. Greeene and children are spending some time at White Springs, Fla., recuperating. Messrs. W. L. Rogers and Denny ■ Carter, of Douglas, were in the city Thursday. Mr. M. H. McCranie left Friday for Charleston, S. C., to accept a po sition with the Western Union Tele graph Co. Mrs. Susie Heirs and Mrs. W. E. White, of Florida, are visiting at the home of Mrs. W. N. A very pleasant social was given at the home of Mr. H. M. Courson last week. Those who attended were Maggie and Willie Minchew, Eva and Lonnie Smith, Elizabeth Gooding, Al vin, Willie, Adison, Agnes and Le land Carter, Ida Loyd, Willie Cour son, Lillie White, Robert Meeks, An drew Lee, Clifton Rowell, Bessie Hursey. Mr. James Meeks visited homefolks Sunday. Misses Ethel Parker and Ida Cour son were the guests of Bessie Hur sey Sunday. Miss Tiny Rowell visited Miss Lil lie White last week. Miss Elizabeth Goodin, of Way cross, is visiting Miss Eva Smith this week. Messrs. E. M. Elder, Ruel Adams, Britt Brigman, Dewitt Foreman, Rob ert Meeks, and Misses Eva Smith and Elizabeth Goodin called at the home of Mrs. Carter Sunday. The crops of this section are look ing fine, and the rains are plentiful. Quite a number of the young peo ple up here attended preaching at Jowers Chapel Sundiy. Among them were Misses Cathleen Davis, Lessie Harper, Mattie Mae Hutchinson; and Messrs. Berry Harper, Warren Ward and some others. Mr. Barney Cheney is all smiles— it’s a boy. Misses Mary Sears and Velamae McDaniel visited Mrs. Dave Tanner Saturday night, and attended services at Forest Grove Sunday. Misses Annie Belle, Pearl, Laura Belle and Winnie Seai-s, Mattie Vick ers; Messrs. Johnie Vickers and Hen ry Sears, were all out car riding on Sunday afternooon. Mrs. Mudge Tanner was a welcome visitor of Mrs. T. A. Ward Sunday. Mrs. Willie Harper and Lessie were pleasant visitors of Mrs. Hutchinson and Mattie Mae Friday afternoon. Mrs. Warren Tanner has been on the sick list for a few days. Hope she will soon be well again. Misses Rosann and Mary Ellen Warren, Mr. Henry Sears and their grandmother all taken a pleasant car ride to the home of Mr. Artcr Gillis last week. Mrs. Adams is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Cheney, this week. Mr. Berry Harper accompanied Miss Cathern Davis home Sunday af ternoon. O O (Last Week's Letter.) The Salem singing school Iwgan on. Monday morning with an enrollment of 29 pupils, Prof. Wm. Maine teach er. We have added several new ones since and are progressing with the greatest of success. Master Luke Evans is recovering rapidly at this writing. Mrs. G. W. Hester is spending the week near Willacoochee with her husband at the Hester saw mill. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Grantham were the pleasant guests for dinner of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. O’Steen Sunday. Mrs. R. S. Underwood and children spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. G. W. Hester. The Salem singing class was rep resented at the convention at Bur kett church Sunday, by Prof. Leonard Peace, Messrs. L. Moody, Nath Hat ten, Sandy Baker, and Prof, and Mrs. Wm. Maine. The singing was a great success. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Maine were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Butler Monday night. Miss Lucile Vir.ing is spending the week at the home of Mr. Elisha Har per and attending the singing school. Misses Lilia and Boieie Carver took dinner with the family of Mr. G. W. Hester Sunday, as the guest of Miss Martha Keith. We are very sorry to state that Uncle Vince Ricketson is no better. Treadling was well attended at Mr. Pat Cheney’s Tuesday night by Mr. Sampie Smith. Rev. T. B. McCranie closed a very good meeting at Salem Sunday night. Mrs. Nanty Grantham and sister, Miriam, spent a few days recently with friends near Salem. Misses Beatrice and Gertrude Evans spent Tuesdya night at the home of Mr. G. W. Williams and little daughter, of Hampton Springs, Fla., spent last Thursday with Mrs. D. M. Everett. Misses Dora and Dollie Kirkland spent Wednesday afternoon with Miss Gaynell Everett. Mrs. Moses Kirkland and daughter, Belle, spent Sunday with Mrs. Noel Hill. Miss Vader Williams, of Nicholls, spent Thursday with Gaynell Everett. Mrs. Kiler Kirkland and children and Mrs. J. H. Allen and children spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs.. Noel Hill. Vance Stevens visited relatives near Douglas Saturday and Sunday. W. Tanner and children were the guests of her mother, Mrs. T. H. Dent, Sunday. Messrs. Joe Courson, Jeff. Kight, Austin Tanner and some others we do not remember, all spent an enjoy able time at the Spring Sunday. Mr. Fisher Dent and his niece, Lilly Tanner, motored up to Sylves ter Sunday after his father, who has been vistiing up there for the last two weeks. The New Forest boys played the Bushnell boys Saturday afternoon. New Forest beat them too. Quite a number of the young folks were at Mr. John Dent’s to practice their new songs for the convention Sunday morning. The fish fry at the school house last Friday was very much enjoyed. Plenty of fish and other things too. The boys had a little ball game that afternoon. Everybody remember preaching at Sand Hill Saturday and Sunday. Mr. B. W. Tanner is getting some better. He was able to be riding a round looking at his crops Monday. Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Wilcox spent I the latter part of last week in Nich - oils, the guest of relatives.
