Purely Personal Mrs. M. E. Vickers has returned from Broxton. Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Roberts spent Sunday in Abbeville. Mrs J. R- Alderman has returned from a visit to relatives in Quitman. Mrs Howard Threlkeld and little son are the guests of Mrs. E. L. Tan ner. Mr. Geo. Fielding left a few days ago for Atlanta to enter the law school there. Mrs. Robert Turner, of Nashville, Ga., is the guest of Mrs. Frances Ken drick. Mrs. J. M. Ashley and little son are spending a few days with relatives in Alamo. Mr. and Mrs, Charles Jonjfes, of Waycross, were week-end visitors to the city. Mrs. J. S. Lott, Miss Eunice Lott, and Mrs. Dan Lott were in Fitzgerald this week. Miss Pauline Dugger has returned from a visit to friends and relatives in Nashville. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Dent had as their guests last Sunday, Mrs. A. T. Howell, of Ocilla. Mrs. E. L. Vickers and Mrs. War ren Lott went over to Fitzgerald this week in their car. Mrs. Arthur Watts has returned from Augusta where she attended the funeral of her mother. Mrs. T. S. Price and mother, Mrs. Drew, and Mrs. J. M. Mathews spent Thursday in Fitzgerald. The Coffee County Fair will make important announcements next week don’t fail to read them. Mr. and Mrs. James Douglas have returned from a visit to friends and; relatives in Duluth, Minn. Mr. George Crowder is at home from Richmond, Va., hwere he went for the G. & F., to purchase engines. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Dorminy, Mrs. John Barnes and Mrs. C. W. Roberts are spending to-day at Fitzgerald. Mrs. J. L. Carter has returned to her home in Kirkland after spending several days with Mrs. T. L. Touchton returned home this week from Hot Spirngs, Ark., where he spent several weeks for his health. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Davis, of Chad bourne, N. C., are spending a few days with their sister, Mrs. M. H. Turrentine. Mrs. A. E. Cossart left Thursday for her home in Oklahoma, she was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. S. 0. Turrentine. Mr. and Mrs. Morton Thigpen who are visiting relatives in North Carolina are expected this week to visit their mother, Mrs. T. S. Deen. Mr. W. R. Wilson spent Thursday in Atlanta where he went to attend the organization of the new Optometry board of which he is a member. Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Moxley have* returned from Camp Harris where they spent several days visiting their son, Tom, who is in camp there. The Baraca, Philothea and Fidelas classes of the Baptist church were cordially entertained on Monday even ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Dent. Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Terrell have as their guests Mr. and Mrs. Luther Girt man and Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Milon, of Blackshear, and Mrs. Henry Girtman, of Hazlehurst. Mrs. J. B. Maynard and daughters, Misses Lillie Mae and Myrtle May nard and Miss Blanche Johnson, of Abbeville, were the guests of Mrs. S. M. Roberts this week. Mrs. McArthur, Miss Aline McAr thur, Mr. and Mrs. Holland, of Pensa cola, Fla., and Mrs. Redder Denmark, of Bainbridge, left Thursday for their homes after a visit to Mrs. A. F. Cof fee. Among the Douglas people who at tended the recent state convention in Macon were Messrs. J. M. Dent, R. J. Cornelius, John Paulk, J. W. Quincey, 0. F. Deen, M. D. Dickerson and W. R. Frier. The Epworth League, of the Metho dist church, entertained the young people of the town and the schools on Monday evening. C. on Thurday afternoon, with about fifteen present. The business on hand and election of officers filled the afternoon, so the historical program was omitted. Plans were made for the erection of a Chapter House and Mrs. W. W. Mc- Donald was made chairman of a com mittee to raise funds. Judge G. R. Briggs was an honor ed guest of the chapter and gave the ladies much valuable information about the confederacy. A solo by Mrs. W. H. Dyer was much enjoyed. Mrs. C. W. Roberts was made dele gate to the U. D. C. Convention at Dublin with Mrs. S. J. Stubbs, alter nate. The president Mrs. J. M. Hall will also attend. Mrs. F. M. Appelby was appointed delegate to the National U. D. C. at Dallas Texas with Mrs. A. F. CofFee, alternate. The election of officers was as fol lows: President—Mrs. J. M. Freeman are rejoicing over the arrival of a girl. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Grantham and baby spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. R. Ricketson. Mesdames R. M. Butler and G. C. O’Steen visited Mrs. Lewis Yarbrough Sunday afternoon. Mrs. J. M. Hester and baby, Ethel, spent part of the week with her mother Mrs. B. Carver. Miss Rhoda Carver is spending the week with her aunt, Mrs. Henry Gran tham. Mr. Frank Russ and mother, Mrs. J. Russ, and Miss Mary Jane Gran tham, of Ambrose, were visitors in Salem community Sunday. Miss Martha Fay Keith who has been spending the summer months in Atlanta with her sister is expected to return home in a few days. Messrs G. W. Hester B. Carver, Wm. Smith and E. M.
