HELP US ENJOY IT.
With all the prosperity in the county at
present, the man who subscribes for and reads
this paper every week, should not forget his
obligation to it. The splendid price of cot
ton has filled the country with money, and has
put the farmer and merchant ahead of the
game, but that does not touch us directly, un
less we get our share of it.
You must remember that we have been
carrying you all these months, these hard-time
months when money was scarce, and sent you
the paper every week, just the same, and we
now think it nothing but right for the people
who are getting the benefits of the high price
of cotton, to remember their paper man.
We might add that a lot of them are
doing this very thing, too. But there should
be more. When you sell your cotton, don’t
you think that you should drop around to your
county paper’s office and pay him up? If not,
send it to him.
While there is such a flood of prosperity,
why not let in your neighbor and especially
your creditor, and no creditor of yours will
be more appreciative of the small amount due
it, than this paper. Again, it will be easier
for you to pay now than ever again. You
won’t miss the money at this particular time,
when it might be harder a little later on.
We make this suggestion in the best of
feeling, and believe you will readily agree with
us. Try the plan out anyway. Do a thing
once, if never again.
