Miss Era Goodyear is visiting rel at Way cross. J Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Cochran spent | the week-end at Macon. Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Vickers ai’e spending a few days at Broxton. Mrs. S. H. D. Barnes is visiting her daughter in Abbeville. Mrs. T. S. Deen is spending awhile in Baxley with her son, Mr. J. C. Deen. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Dorminy spent several days in Atlanta this week at the fair. Mrs. Rema Sapp and little daughter are spending several days in Atlanta this week. Mrs. Hester Melton, of Hot Springs, Ark., is visiting Douglas for a few weeks. Mrs. Dan Lott has returned to her home in Cordele, after a pleasant visit to relatives here. ' Mrs. George Crowder and Mrs. F. D. Markette made a short trip to Augusta this week. Mrs. J. S. Lott has returned from Athens where she visited her son Clin ton. Mrs. Percy Smith has as her guest this week, Mrs John Roberts, of Nich olls. Mrs. S. O. Turrentine has returned from a visit to her dalghter in Caddoo, Olda. Messrs. O. F. Deen and Herbert Mc- Lean spent a few days in Atlanta this week. Mrs. R. C. Relihan and little daugh ter are spending some time in Augusta with relatives. A number of ladies met with Mrs. J. M. Hall last Saturday for the pur pose of organizing a D. A. R. Chapter which arrangments will be completed soon. , Miss Dickens’ services to the Wo men’s Clubs will be free, while she is ;in the city. She will be here Oct. 30, ifor one week, at the Union Pharmacy. While in Douglas She Will Call On Several Ladies By Appointment The Store Dr. W. H. Hughes .spent Monday in Atlanta on business. Mr. M. F. Head spent several days in Atlailta this week on business. Jno. A. Corn is in charge of the new shipment of mules to Dickey & Martin. See him. Mrs. J. M. Hall spent several days in Dublin this week in attendance at the U. D. C. convention. Mrs. G. M. Stanton is spending awhile in Chattanooga with her sister, Miss Nell Rutherford. Mrs. B. Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Peterson spent a few days in Atlanta this week at the fair. Rev. R. M. Mann, of • Fitzgerald, stopped over in Douglas Friday on his way to Presbytery at Swainsboro. Mrs. F. T. Currie and family have moved back to Douglas from Broxton and are residing on McDonald street. t See Miss Dickens the beauty specialist , while she is in the city. She will be at the Union Pharmacy for one week beginning Oct. 30. Mesdames Warren Lott, W. F. Sib bett, B. W. Gray and W. I. Christian, spent Tuesday in Fitzgerald, going over in Mrs. Lott’s car. Mr. R. N. McEacheim and family have moved into their new home on Sellers street, where Mr. Ross former ly lived. It was remodeled and is now one of the prettiest homes in the city. Little Marshall Ashley continues quite ill of diphteria and pneumonia though showing some improvement to day. Dr. Mulkerin, of Augusta, and Dr. J. M. Smith, of Valdosta, are the physicians called in consultation with Drs. Burns, Roberts and Whelchel. Miss Dickens, the celebrated Har mony goods demonstrator, will be in Douglas at the Union Pharmacy for one week beginning Oct. 30. While here she will call on several ladies by appointment. Dr. C. W. Roberts leaves to-day for Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York where he expects to spend a few days, and maybe longer, at several well known hospitals, getting new ideas, and do post graduate work. Again on Tuesday Miss Maudlee Bryan entertained the young people at a matinee party with refreshments afterwards. The Optima Class Entertains. The Optima Class of the Baptist church gave a party at the home of Miss Edith Brooks Monday evening at 8 o’clock.
