Mrs. Murphy has returned to Augusta afterr a visit to he daughter, Mrs. R. C. Relihan. Mrs. Morris Wright and little daughter, Majorie, are guests of her sister, Mrs- J. H. Jordan. Mrs. J. W. Dale had as her recent guests, Mrs. Fitzgerald and children, of Waycross. Mr. Carol Relihan has return ed from Valdosta where he was operated on with success. Mr. and Mrs. Rema Sapp, Miss G. L. Chandler and Mr. I. C. Sapp spent Wednesday in Fitzgerald. Mrs. T. S. Williams, of Fitz gerald, spent several days in the city last week attending the liar. Mrs. W. H. Bone and little son , will leave Tuesday to spend I Christmas with relatives at Dub lin. Miss Ruth Barnes, of Haralson ; left Sunday for Waycross, after 1 a visit to her brother, Mr. L. C. Barnes. Mrs. Dan Byrd, of Pridgen, the recent guest of her sister, Mrs. Head has returned to her ;home. Mrs. John Barnes entertained large number of young people on Thursday evening, in honor of her guest, Miss Eva Martin, of Fitzgerald. Mrs. Ada Howell and children, of Willachoochee, spent a few days with Mrs. J. M. Dent last week. Mrs. T. B. Moxley, will leave in a few days for Augusta where she will spend the holidays with relatives. Judge B. T. Allen and Cashier W. C. Patterson, were among the Pearson visitors in the city this week. Attorneys J. 0. Sirmans and E. R. Smith, of Willacoochee, were among the Attorneys at City Court this week. Thomas Overstreet spent sev eral days in Wahsington this week attending the assistant postmaster’s convention. The ladies of the Methodist church raised about $200.00 on their church debt, serving meals at the Fair. The many friends of Mrs. G. M. Stanton will regret to hear of her critical illness at a sanitari um in Atlanta. Mrs. I. W. Clements has re turned to her home, at Alamo, after a visit to her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Ashley. The ladies of the Baptist church will serve their usual fif ty cents dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Don’t forget. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. DeGraffen reid, of Pourtsmouth, are the guests of their neices, Mrs. J. W. Quincey and Mrs. M. D. Dick erson. Miss Louise Grantham has many friends here who will be interested in hearing of her mar riage this week to Mr. Hearin, of Thomasville. U. D. C. Mrs. J. L. Shelton was the gracious hostess for the U. D. C. on Thursday at her residence. Considerable businss was dis pensed, and the Chapter planned to do a special local work this year, which was given a unani mous vote. Among other business discuss ed was a desire to change the name of the chapter from Robert E. Lee to the Colquitt Chapter, as there are already three chapt ers in Georgia bearing the name of Robert E. Lee, causing con fusion at the Convention. This was not put to vote, as the president desired an express ion from the Daughters who were absent. There was no historical pro gram on account of absence of historian.
