Tomorrow the voters of Douglas will choose a mayor and five councilmen to serve them for the coming year. This is one of the most im portant tasks the people have every year. We are afraid the importance of this not fully real ized by the average voter. At this time Douglas needs strong business men to handle her affairs. She has always need ed them, but at no time in her history, does she need them worse than right now. The financial affairs of the city are anything but good, and it is going to take good, live business men to prop erly finance the city next year. The Enterprise has no choice. We hope the voters will look at the matter as we do, and lay aside all personal feeling in the matter and vote for the man tomorrow, who, in their judg ment, will give the city the best service. There are scores of men here who are capable of giving the city as good service as can be found any where, and we hope the people will select that kind of mayor and aldermen tomorrow. ***** Send in your name for the Empty Stock ing Fund. *** * * Vote early tomorrow and be sure you cast a vote you will never be ashamed of. ***** Christmas is only a few days off. Help the Empty Stocking Fund, and help the little poor fellow enjoy some of the festivities. ***** Tomorrow is election day for municipal of ficers. Douglas voters should go slow and vote for a good strong ticket. Douglas needs one right at this time. ***** The Baptists of Douglas are to be congratu lated on the magnificient work done on last Tuesday when a few of the brethren got busy and raised a sufficient amount to pay the church out of debt. It was a great day for the Baptists of Douglas and they are to be complimented on the great accomplishment. ***** The Grand Theatre is to be congratulated on the announcement they are making in the Enterprise to-day. No more prize fights of any kind will be permitted in the thce.tre. says Mana ger Lane, and he is right about it.
