qualify for service in the army and

to do so will result in getting you into
serious trouble. Do not treat the mat
ter lightly, or indifferently because it
is no joke.
Let our people rally and show their
patriotism, let the minister and par
ents of our young men urge this mat
ter. Remember it is Tuesday June

taxes. Let us have a great rush to

Notice is hereby given that I, to
gether with others, citizens of Brox
ton, will ask the Hon. C. E. Stewart,
Representative of Coffee County, Ga„
to introduce a bill in the next General
Assembly of Georgia, to amend the
Charter of the City of Broxton as or
iginally incorporated by Act of the
Legislature of 1904, and as ameded by
Acts of 1903, of the laws of Georgia,
relative to school committee and of
ficers of said municipality, light and
water plant and for ether purposes.

NOTICE OF LOCAL LEGISLATION.
Notice is hereby given that I will
introduce and insist on the passage of
an Act amending the Act creating the
County Depository of Coffee County,
Georgia, amending said Act as to bond
required of said depository, and as to
amount required of said depository to
be paid to said county as is set forth
in sections three and ten of said Act
creating said depository, Acts of 1916,
page 394, and for other purposes.

Owing to the increased price of ma
terial, on and after June Ist 1917, we
will discontinue baking 5c loaves of
bread.
We will make larger loaves to re
tail at 10c and 15c.

DOG ORDINANCE.
There is an ordinance nrohibiting
dogs from running on the streets of
Douglas. This ordinance will be rig
idly enforced from June Ist to Sept
ember 15. All dogs must be in an
enclosure or muzzled. Dogs found on
streets wtihout muzzle v. ill be killed
immediately by order of Mayor and
Council.
