My Florida girl says she is having
mychills. Very sorry. Someone has

from the veterans re-union at Thomas
ville, last Friday. He reports an en

Tony Right says there are two bales
of long and one of short cotton in the
fields at home. When that is out and
sold shes going to cut a caper.

Minnie Scott, of Brookfield, says
she is coming to the Fair, and and to
see Uncle Jim. That is the girl that
has three dimples—one on the chin
and one on each cheek.

I have heard of another young man
that has marriage license in his pock

My old grand mother us to tell
me that “1 worked and studied better

am going to do a good deal of work
and studying too, to keep from getting
too hungry to work.
A girl told me the other day that
she could run her father’s car, “was
coming after me sometime, and would
get back home and have me there be
fore he found it out.” If I go wath
her I see my finish right now.
Whenever you see a girl keeping
company with some that areknown to
be“shody,” it is a sign that she is
going to be “shody,” too. And the
same applies to young men who keeps
“shody” cqmpany.
Myrian Fussell picked out a nice
coat suit when she was here recently,
to be taken home the next time she
cam to town. Her father caught on,
and it look like the “next time” is not
coming soon.
Saw several parties from the coun
try last wek and this, tying to hire
hands to pull corn but wanted tc pay
only $1.25 per day. People can make
more than that picking cotton.
Sallie has a carbuncle right in the
palm of her hand. I’m certainly
sorry for her, but she can’t slap me

Mr. W. S. Lupo, a farmer who lives
up above Broxton, near Barrows Bluff,
was in town one day last week and
gave me a sack of pears, which look
ed like apples, but they wer drafted
apples and pear.
Some young people in a county in
upper Georgia, who thought they were
legally married a year ago, find that
they were not. The old peachr that
performed the ceremony has peached
for years but was not an ordained
minister.
Melvin Right was in here Mnday,
but you could not have gotten him
Friday on any account. His wife wan
ted him to bring her and the kid to the
show, but he was obliged to break corn
and couldn’t spare the time. He spent
the next day on the bank of a creek
fishing.
Maning Peterson, who used to be
sheriff of this county, but now lives
over in Louisiana, is moving around
among his friends. in the county
When he was sheriff I was kinder tick
lish of him, but I’m not now. There
are 400 girls in the county who would
snatch him ball headed if he fooled
with me.
Eli Vickers, Sr., wants some money
still, he don’t just want you to let him
have the money, but to endorse his
note at the bank. Borrowing from
the bank sounds bigger Rnd more busi
ness like than from a common man.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vickers, Sr.,
came to see me last week. Now, Miss
Mary McMillen, at Osierfield, will
have the Enterprise for next twelve
months.
You know Cora Grantham, who live
at Hazlehurst, came over to Broxton
to spend two weeks with home folks,
some time ago, and only staid three
days when she had to g home to her
husband. They have been married
only a month, and she was afraid he’d
wake up in the night, find her gone
and imagine her white dress hanging
up behind the door was a ghost. She’ll
get over that in about forty years.
