COFFEE SLACKING
These are pretty hard words to re
peat abott your home county, to say
a hat o ur people are slacking, but
nevertheless, it seems to be true. At.
(east, a people is judged by their acst,
and if so, then Coffee county people,
■jls a whole, are condemned, at the
present time.
There remains only about eight
mote days in which to buy liberty
'.ictfids and just about one-half of our
iwota has been sold. Scores of
tunnies nn Georgia disposed of their
•piota long ago, some are now near
itg the end, and the grand old coun
ty of Coffee has just about reached
middle ground.
The drive is on as we are writing
this, and we trust that a great ad
-■ n.Ko will be made today in our coun
ty and that many thousand of dollars
will be sold. Our people seem to
just now to realize our standing
and what we have not accomplished,
and we are glad that they have be
fore it is too late.
If we dont buy these bonds and
lake up our quota in full, then we are
not doing our part, and a man or com
munity who fails to do their part in a
porid like ths, is nothing short of a
,'ommon slacker, There is n o get
ting around this.
Shall Coffee county be found slack
i :ig ?.

EVERYONE MUST HELP.
War* cannot be fought without money, and upon tho Treaaury centers
every financial demand upon the Nation.
The rich of this country cannot alone meet the need* of the Nation;
the men of the country cannot do it atone; the women of the country
cannot do it alone; but all of us, the people of the United States, d'sre
garding part zarship, fornettinq selfish, interests, thinking only of the >
supremacy of r.cht and determining to vindicate the majesty of American
ideals and secure the safety cf America and civilization, can do the great
and splendid work which Goj has called upon us to do.

There seems to be disposition"' -to
