ruary, 1920, John Victor Downs ex
ecuted and delivered to The Georgia
Loan & Trust Company, of Macon,
Georgia, his deed, under Section “3306
of the 1910” Code of Georgia, to the
lands hereinafter described, for the
purpose of securing a debt referred to
in said deed, which deed is recorded
in the Clerk’s office of Coffee Superior
Court in book 39 of deeds, page 427.
AND WHEREAS, in said deed, said
grantor gave to said grantee and as
signs the power to sell said lands in
case of default in the prompt payment
at maturity, of interest or principal
of said debt.
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of
the power so vested in the undersign
ed, which is more accurately shown by
reference to said deed RUTLAND
SAVINGS BANK will sell at public
outcry to the highest bidder, for cash,
on June 3rd, 1924, during the legal
hours of sale before Coffee County
Court House door at Douglas, Geor
gia, the lands described in the afore
said deed, to-wit:
All that tract or parcel of land sit
uate, lying and being in the Fifth
(sth) District of Coffee County, Geor
gia, consisting of One Hundred twen
ty-five (125) acres, more or less, of lot
of land No. Two Hundred fifty-eight
(258), situate in the southwest por
tion of said lot and described and
bounded as follows: Beginning at the
southwest corner of said lot and
thence running north along west or
iginal lot line 915 yards, more or
less, to an agreed corner of lands for
merly owned by Willoughby Adams,
thence east along an agreed line to a
certain branch; thence in a slightly
southeasterly direction along said
branch to a certain head; thence east
along an agreed line to lands of Joe
Carver estate; thence south along an
agreed line 625 yards, more or less,
to south original line; thence west
along south original line 800 yards,
more or less, to point of beginning,
and said described property being the
place and premises upon which the
said John Victor Dowis resided.
A Deed of Assignment was made to
the undersigned by said The Georgia
Loan & Trust Company, of record
Mar. 24th, 1920, in Book 39, folio 523,
Coffee County, Georgia. Said land
will be sold as the property of estate
of John Victor Dowis.
The said deed first above mentioned
was executed and delivered to secure
the payment of one certain promissory
note for the sum of $1500.00 dated
Feb. 20th, 1920, and the principal
debt, bearing interest at the rate of
6 1-2 per cent, per annum.
Said principal debt is now past due
by the terms thereof, and so declared
to be due for default in payment of
interest due October Ist, 1923. The
total amount of principal and interest
that will be due on said debt on the
date of sale is $1668.55. Fee simple
titles will be made to the purchaser at
said sale and the proceeds of such sale
will be applied first, to the payment
of said debt with interest and expenses
of this proceeding, and the remainder,
if any, will be paid over to said John
Victor Dowis’ estate or its legal rep
resentative. •

Two hundred forty-five (245) acres,
more or less, and bounded north west
and south by original lines, east by a
line parallel to and midway between
the east and west original lines. And
being the place whereon said George
W. Busby resided.
The said deed first above mentioned
was executed and delivered to secure
the payment of one certain promissory
note for the sum of $1500.00 dated
April 2nd, 1917, and the principal
debt, bearing interest at the rate of
6 1-2 per cent, per annum.
Said principal debt is now past due
by the terms thereof, and so declared
to be due for default hi payment of
interest due October Ist, 1923. The
total amount of principal and interest
that will be due on said debt on the
date of sale is $1717.20. Fee simple
titles will be made to the purchaser at

deed made and executed on the 28th
day of January 1920, by Mrs. Lenora
E. Turrentine, in favor of the under
signed Ashley Trust Company, which

of the said Mrs. Lenora E. Turrentine
to satisfy the indebtedness owing by
her to the undersigned and secured by
said deed. The proceeds of said sale
to be applied to the payment of said
debt, including principal, interest and
all cost of sale, and the balance, if
any, to be paid to the said Mrs. Lenora
E. Turrentine, or as the law directs.

May, 1924, between ten o’clock A. M.
and four o’clock P. M., to the highest

conveyed by said deed and described as

of Coffee County, Georgia, containing
Four Hundred Ninety (490) acres,
more or less.
Default has been made in the pay
ment of the debt to secure which said
deed was executed, and the said
George M. Forman has elected to de
clare the entire loan due and payale
as provided in said deed and the sale
will be had for the purpose of paying
said debt plus any delinquent taxes
and the cost of this proceeding.
G. C. McKenzie, of Turner County,
Georgia, by an instrument duly ex
ecuted and recorded, will attend and
conduct said sale for the said George
M. Forman, in accordance with the
provisions of said deed, and the said
George M. Forman will execute to the
purchaser or purchasers at said sale
fee simple title to the property above
described.

note of said Carl R. Tanner, dated
May 29th, 1920, due on its face Oct
ober Ist. 1925, but due and collectible
now on account of default in the pay
ing of one interest coupon for three
hundred thirty ($330.00) dollars due
on October Ist, 1923.
Said property will be sold to the
highest bidder for cash, and the pro
ceeds will be applied to the payment
of said indebtedness and cost of this
proceeding and sale, and all indebted
ness secured by said loan deed.
