NOTICE OF SALE.
WHEREAS, G. C. Smith, Annie
Smith and Fannie Wash of Coffee
County, Georgia, by their Warranty
Deed dated February 9, 1921, and duly
recorded in Book 40 at page 447 of
the Land Records of Coffee County,
Georgia, conveyed to the Pearsons-
T aft Land Credit Company, a cor
poration, the following described real
estate in Coffee County, Georgia, to
wit:
The East Half (1-2) of Lot Eight
(8) in the Fourth (4th) Land Dis
trict, containing 245, acres, more
or less;
To secure the promissory note of
said G. C. Smith, Annie Smith and
Fannie Wash for the sum of Two
Hundred Eighteen & 60-100 ($218.60)
Dollars, payable in installments, and
in said deed provided that in event
of the default in the payment of any
installment of said note, said Com
pany might declare the unpaid bal
ance thereof at once due and payable
and sell said land for the payment
thereof; and
WHEREAS, the installment of said
note due November 1, 1923, was not
paid when due and is still unpaid and
said Company has declared the entire
unpaid balance of said note now due
and payable;
NOW, THEREFORE, Taft and
Company, formerly the Pearsons-Taft
Land Credit Company, under and by
virtue of the power and authority in
said Company vested by said War
ranty Deed, will proceed to sell the
above described real estate and appur
tenances thereunto belonging at pub
lic sale to the highest bidder for cash
at the door of the County Court House
in the city of Douglas, State of Geor
gia, between the hours of 10:00 A. M.
and 4:00 P. M., on the 26th day of
June, 1924, for the purpose of paying
said indebtedness and the costs of said
sale.
As provided in said deed, said sale
will be subject to the rights of the
holder of that certain principal note
for the sum of Fifteen Hundred (sl,-
500.00) Dollars, and interest thereon
at six and one-half percent from No-
vember 1, 1922, described in and se
cured by that certain Warranty Deed
recorded in Book 40 at page 446 of
the Land Records of Coffee County,
Georgia.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, said
Taft and Company has caused these
presents to be executed by its Presi
dent and its corporate seal to be affix
ed this 15th day of May. A. D. 1924.
