HARDMAN WINS.
The ballots have fallen and the re
sult is that Dr. L. G. Hardman, of
Commerce, will be our next governor.
He won by a very large majority
which should convince anyone that he
was the decided choice of the people,
and the people should rule.
Dr. Hardman is an able man in
many respects. He is not a brilliant
man, no statesman, but he is a good
business man, honorable and sincere,
and no doubt will make the state an
able executive. He is thoroughly fa
miliar with the affairs of the state,
not a novice by any means, and his
years of experience will be worth much
to him during his administration.
We believe John Holder, the man
he defeated, is just as good timber
for governor as Dr. Hardman. The
cry of “bust the ring’’, which issued
from both sides, was about correct,
but neither had it on the other as to
the size and existence of what is
termed a “ring”. We hope Dr. Hard
man will have a successful term, and
that he will clean out the “ring” in
good shape. Georgia needs a good
cleaning in state affairs. Maybe Dr.
Hardman will use the broom.
