Wednesday, in the trial of Senator Farris, charged with bribery, former Lieutenant John A. Lee took the stand. He said he asked Farris to help defeat the bill to repeal the law prohibiting tne use alum in baking powder. Farris said it could be done by holding the hill in committee, but that it was an impor tant bill to the Royal Baking Powder Company and the boys needed money. He wanted $7,000. of which SI,OOO was to go to each of six members of the senate committee and SI,OOO to teu senator who introduced the bill. CHOCKED WORK LONG CONTINUED.
