Mr. Jackson Ward, of Mt. Car
rie, Fla., was in town Christmas,
to see his old friends and paid res
pects, in the shape of a silver dol
lar, to this office.
The post office and express office
did an immense business during
the past week, which is an indica
tion that Santaclause was busy,
sending presents around.
It was a rainy evening Christmas
evening, but we learn that the
little folks enjoyed themselves with
a nice Christmas tree and entertain
ment at Mayor Roans.

its faults, sorrows, joys and enme

Dr. W. F. S ; bbett went to see his
father and other relatives at V ine
land, N. C., last week. He prom
ised his father to go home once a
year and he keeps his promise.
Mr. J. R. Davis, formerly a
citizen of Douglas, but now of
Bond Miss., came over last week
and spent the holidays with his
children who are with Col. and
Mrs. C. A. Ward.

and Messrs. Frank and George
Ward all went down to Sanderson,
F'a., last week to'spend Christmas
with their mother and grandmoth

E. L. Vickers informs the Breeze
that he and his friend Grantham
killed a hog last week which weigh
ed 4'7> He says they killed other
hogs, tco, but none so large as
this one. We learn of quite a
number of farmers id the county
who have killed large hogs.

amined last Tuesday night, as fol
lows: C. B. Porter. S. J. Brown,
Jno. Bailey J. A. Carter and H.

were surprised, captured and jailed
last Tuesday for gambling. Some
of the same party escaped, but he

Mr. F. L. Sweat went down to
Jacksonville last Surday and re
turned on Tuesday, and at once
went out to finish up the work on

In coming from the depot last
Wednesday morning, directly in
front, or between the jail and drug
store, Simon Lott, driving a one
horse buggy, knocked down and
ran over the youngest son of Dr.
Terrell. It seems miraculous that
the child was not seriously hurt,
but he was oruised up considerably
about the head and face.

men, Terry and Doyle got into a
shooting scrape and the ’atter v as
badly wounded. Afterward, a
mau by name of Gibson, a friend
of Doyle shot and mortally woun
ded Terrey. Latter on a white
man named Pain stabbed Gibson
seriously. Regular mix-up at the
prison pen.
